The things that you value the most, the treasurers that you keep close to your heart, everything you love. To gain one thing you must give up another. But the question is which one are you willing to give up in order to hang on? James is faced with this everyday, and he has sacrificed more then what he has, more than what he could of had, more of what could of been. For him sacrifices are made every second of his life. The things he is willing to give to others only to receive nothing. He'd even give his own soul to his friends and loved ones if he knew they would be safe, loved, and happy. He sacrifices everything for nothing for himself. He sacrifices only for the ones he loves; to him his loved ones are everyone.
No matter what the task, no matter what the favor, no matter what the challenge. He faces them with all that he has to spare and he gives all that there is to spare. The things he sacrifices for others are worth more to them than him, and that’s why he gives those things willingly. He gives to others all of these thing. Happiness, for he knows he can never be truly happy to know that any of his friends are not filled with the emotion which brings them joy and comfort; Strength, for he knows that they need all of the spiritual and physical strength that he can spare; Friendship, for he knows that he may never feel the warmth of friendship unless he gives all that he can bare to let them have good and loving friends; Heart, for he knows that his is dying and that he never feel emotion as they do so he gives them his heart so that they may feel that warmth inside them; and last his soul for he knows with that he can be assured that they will always be safe, loved, and happy.
With everything he gives, none is given back in return for the things he has sacrificed. But James doesn't think that he ever deserved any of the thing that he has to offer and that’s why he tried to give back what he has received over the years of his entire life time. He knows that he can never find better use for them than to hand them over and watch over his friends. He willingly gives these things to everyone he has and ever will meet. He knows that they will be of better use in their hands than in his unworthy soul. Nor does he think that their friendship he deserves for he still feels that he has done nothing in turn for such a wonderful gift as that. With everything he has received he has tried to give back in return for all of the wonders bestowed upon him, and he also gives back to those who even have tortured and pained his heart for he knows that they are to be forgiven no matter what the crime or action brought upon him from them.
James knows that everyone else but himself deserves all that he has to offer, and even the things that he might never have, such as things of love, happiness, true friendship, and someone that he can forever love and care for even in death. He knows he may never find love or happiness or the one he is searching for, and as he ventures onward it becomes more apparent that he indeed may have to face his life alone. Fro this he knew one day he will be faced with that truth of truly being alone, but he ventures the path that he has chosen with faith and the belief that one day his work will come to an end, but even when he reaches that day no matter what happens he still knows he can still give all that he has and will try to give more then what little his heart can bear.
Life is valued by everyone, everyone's life is valuable to him, everyone's but his owns. He knows that one day he will give his life for another, give it willingly, and faithfully, knowing that he has given all that he has but still wants to try to ensure that everything is given and nothing is left behind. He waits and ponders upon that day when he is faced with a challenge that assures death but he knows that nothing is wasted and that he has given all freely and willingly.
He is still sacrificing for all of his loved ones, no matter who, whether it be a friend that loves and cares for him or whether it be someone who has scorned and is filled with hatred for him. No matter who, no one is left without something left behind by James, and no one will be left behind, no one but himself. He stays in the past, looking both in the memories of yesterday and the eyes of the future. Watching and waiting, looking and searching for any opportunity to give what little he has to offer to anyone. No matter who, to him, everyone is worth more than life itself, and worthy enough to die for, even enough to love. With nothing left to spare but memories of what he has seen and a prayer to remember to recite every night.
