(foolish of me... should of known she'd try something sooner or later)
The little girl laughed with that of a normal child. The sinister tone shifted and became more of an adult as the child herself morphed in a light mist to that of women with long, light brown, hair. Her eyes flashed a bright yellow then faded into a carmel brown.
"So Rie... shall we go for a walk?"
She smirked and shot up into the sky with a quick swirl of dust forming around the area they where in. Rie quickly tried to release and pulled at her grip, but still couldn't get away. She laughed again and then twisted around quickly throwing him down to the ground below.
Rie hit the ground with a painful scream. He got up slowly trying to shift out to mist, but couldn't. He groaned and got up to his feet.
(what the hell is going on... it's like mortal again...)
"What's the matter Rie? I told you i'd give you everything you wanted... all you had to do was stay!"
As she screamed "stay" her arm tensed and a white energy orb formed in her hands. She twisted and hurled it down towards him.
Rie quickly crossed his arms infront of his face and braced for the impact. The orb hit his arms forcing the ground around him to crack and cave. He pressed back at the orb and shifted his wieght to the right.
He rolled over pushing the orb in the other direction sending it flying.
He sighed and looked back up to where she was.
(oh lovely...)
a defeated look came across his face for a moment and then he tensed and covered up again laying on the ground. Above the women had sent a barrage of pulsing white energy orbs down at him.
The sound from the impact went out for miles.
The women smirked and casually floated down.
As the dust settled Rie started to pick himself up to his hands and knees, caughing as he did. His clothes had been burnt to just rags barely resembling his former clothes. His hair had been burnt off on one side and partially on the other from heat. Impacts from the rocks being hurled had created random wounds on his body as the rest was lightly burned.
"Oh... i'm sorry dear"
She floated and pressed her foot againts his back to keep him from getting up any further.
Rie hesitated for a minute still recovering his senses.
She smirked and jolted down quick, pushing him back to the ground.
"What hope do you have Rie? It can't be restored... I wont allow it."
she leaned down closer to his head and whispered
"You'll never be mortal again"
A long pause filled the air. Rie just groaned and occasionally attempted to push up only to be pressed down again.
"Now if you want to continue to suffer like one and not die... i can arrange that"
She pressed her feet into his spine and grinded with her toes.
A loud scream escape from Rie's lips as his reflexes fought to stop the pain.
"Or..."
She stopped.
"You can stop chaising this pointless gem and get back to work. This will be your only warning Rie...
We can not have you straying from the mission when you are so close to completing it. We know why you want it but it's just not going to happen. It shows no purpose."
She floated off him and gracefully landed on the ground beside him.
"Especially since you don't have the missing shard..."
She smirked.
Rie just rolled over onto his back.
She smiled at his defeated stance and flew over him. Hovering just above him, as if she where laying ontop, she leaned down and kissed him passionately.
After a few moment she ended the kiss and sighed in satisfaction. She then floated back upright and set her feet on the ground
"Oh how i've missed that"
Rie only shifted his head over to avoid her eyes. She giggled and bit her bottom lip lightly
"I'll see ya around Rie"
She blew him a kiss with a sinister grin and winked. Then kicked up and a flash of white surrounded the area. Where she once was now was just white mist flowing away quickly into the wind.
Rie sighed and tensed a bit trying to shift himself. After a few tries his quickly faded to a purple mist for a flash then back to himself.
All his cuts and wounds where healed. Even his hair had gone back to the way it was.
He rolled over and stood up, standing it pants that just barely stayed on. He ripped off what remained of his shirt and tossed it to the ground
(... that women...)
He looked out to the town again and sighed
(At least i know where it is for now... i can always come back)
His fists tensed and floated up into the air. After a quick purple flash in the sky he was gone. Only a cloud of purple mist remained to fade into the wind
