You know what I hate about my school yet alone life itself? People call me weird just because I like things from Japan like anime, manga, there clothes so on so forth. Yet if they think about it it’s just the same as America. In America people like to have the designer dresses, bags, jewelry, make-up and such. We as otakus do that too. We want the new Lolita dress from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, and the coffin ring from Mana’s new line. I myself have also been told I’m weird for liking the Japanese music like Dir en Grey, An Café and Miyavi. Yet I’d get jumped if I said “Well R Kelly isn’t as great as you all think.” Seens rap is the only thing ‘Americans’ are suppose to listen to then just go ahead and call me a black sheep.
The preps say “You lack happiness. You must not have any friends.” Well, they don’t see us with our Otakus friends. So, what if there not there with you that moment or at school at all, they will be there later on. They also don’t see us at conventions. We as otakus seem that conventions are our escape from our school life were we get judged just for being different from they are.
The most frequent thing I’ve heard was “You don’t have a life. You spend it all on that anime stuff. Freak.” You don’t know how badly I would like to say “At least I do something with my life. Not like you who tries to make yourself look like a beautiful girl but all your doing is trying to fit in with everyone. You don’t want to be ‘different’. You’re afraid to be made fun of.
