Is a Boneless Chicken and Invertebrate?

The answer all depends on how you interpret the question. If you think of the boneless chicken in it’s current state than in could be classified as an invertebrate. A vertebra is an organism with a spine. Now, most people associate boneless with spineless, which isn’t always the case. A snake has a spin but is boneless everywhere else. Either way you look at it though, when you’re eating a boneless chicken, you’re not eating the meat on its spine. Because a spine is a collection of many bones. I hope you know where I’m going with this, though it might seem confusing. A boneless chicken has no spine; therefore it can be classified as an invertebrate.

Remember that other way of thinking I mentioned? Well I’ll explain that to you now. A chicken is born with a spine and its bones in tact. Therefore a chicken is a vertebra. Chickens are de boned after they are dead, so we can eat them. The chickens were originally born with a spine, so if after death their bones are picked out; it still makes them a vertebra. My definition of a vertebra is a living organism with a spinal cord. If you think like I do than, you would see this whole thing as option two. If you think of the present rather than the past, you should pick option one. Those are my answer(s) on the question, is a boneless chicken an invertebrate?
