The Abandoned
I know how you feel. I know that you feel lonely and it hurts inside. I know because I’ve been in that position before…the position where everyone you know leaves you. You are left in an expanse of eternal night and eternal pain. The pain stabs you like a thousand blades in your heart. You feel the life-your life slipping away. When it does you feel empty inside. Empty and lonely. But don’t fret! You are not-no you are never alone, there are people like you. People that haven’t been found. How do I know they exist? You never know, never unless you look. Look through the darkness, look through the suffering….and the loneliness. Why do I tell you this? I tell because I need to remind you. Remind you that it is never to late to try and regain what you have lost. Its only when you start to think about what you can do to regain what you’ve lost can you ever regain it. I guess I’m only wasting my breath on saying this.
What’s that? Why did I say that? I said it because I’m talking to me. I’m reminding myself…by saying this to my reflection, that is how I remind myself. That is how I move forward. You-my father-have drained my life away. You left me to find my way through the lonely, insufferable darkness. I feel betrayed! Betrayed by you!? My own father! Why? Why? I ask myself that, but only you can answer that question. I wonder if you can hear me through the dense darkness. If you can, tell me why you never answer me…because when you don’t you kill me. You may have already killed me a million times over. How? By ignoring my desperate pleas for help. I am the abandoned. I was left all alone…..nobody can understand how I feel. Especially not you.
My life is being sucked away like a vampire sucking blood from its victims. I try to run, run away from the utter blackness and the insufferable loneliness.
