Realistically, I shouldn't be anywhere near as excited as I am about this show. Up until yesterday I hadn't seen a single video of it. I was working off the opinions of my friends at Manga Updates, especially Fjgs! All of his sigs featured scenes from either Code Geass or Darker than Black and I found myself desperately in need of seeing these shows, but I had a dial-up connection. Dial-up.
And then I finally acquired a cable modem. Ah, heaven, even if it's still kinda slow 'cause my comps older than dirt, it's still almost always capable of downloading stuff. I go to find a fan sub for Darker than Black...
It's licensed and got pulled. Okay, that's cool. I don't mind paying to see it. Unfortunately, Funimation is the company that licensed it and they haven't posted a release date, so I must continue waiting until they decide to tell me when I can watch it. Funimation, hurry your asses up!
Next, I look up Code Geass. It's also licensed and has been pulled from the fansubbers virtual shelves. Cool, I don't mind paying to see it. It's Bandai. Crap! Not that I completely dislike Bandai's dubbing. (It's not like they're Viz. Viz blows. It's like they see that the show is animated and decide that the characters need cartoony voices. Don't believe me? Check out One Piece and Naruto. Nuff said!) I'm just not sure I trust Bandai to release the show in it's entirety. I have no basis for this opinion, it's simply a gut reaction. I can even put up with their sometimes cartoony voice-overs. So, when I finally see that the show is going to be aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, I whoop for joy! And then I see the release date is less than a month off, I give off another whoop and grin like an idiot.
Now, I decide to Google a trailer, as last night I accidentally located an AMV and it was awesome beyond all reason. The first trailer located is Bandai's official trailer.
OMFG! Watch it! I have located it conveniently at the top of my profile so you can watch it! I now have to see this show. HAVE TO. And soon. What do I do until April 26th?
AAAAHHHH!!!
