Sakachi's Journal
What usually goes on in my life.
First, we have to look at his deeds. Everyone knows that Christopher “discovered” America. He brought the European people to the New World, opening new markets, alliances, and people to conquer/enslave/love as he thought fit. He was the hero who led Europe into the golden age, where mercantilism and trade flourished, where people got jobs, countries became civilized, and kings and queens rolled in dough like fish in the ocean. He was the one who opened the door into the industrial revolution, he brought unity to the world, and he connected the two halves, whom had for so long been separate, together. He was the one! And to worship and congratulate him for this is only natural. After all, in the history of mankind, there has always been certain people who inspires others, who does something that no one has thought of before, who leads mankind to greatness or ruin, but leads them, nonetheless. Joan of Arc was one, Albert Einstein was another, and there is no doubt that Christopher Columbus belongs with them, etched forever in our memories as a human being who did something.
