Yuki's Journal >:D
Well. . . this journal is made up of the stories I write. ^_^
Vampire story.
Before you guys read this . . . this story switches between two perspecitves (Silo/Kain)

Chapter 1: The story of cursed lovers.
It has been 6 years since the night we saw our parents die in a horrid car crash. We remember it like it happened yesterday so real and so painful. Every night we dreamt of the crash and the pools of blood that seeped from their remains wondering why he and I didn’t die along with them. I regret not being able to save them with my week and unstable body and so did my friend. We should have died with them and yet we didn’t. HE saved us, the man that we would soon come to hate and despise, for he left me and my best friend with those memories of that horrible night.

Perspective 1: It was just another dark and rainy night in Tarapa. Usually it didn’t rain that much during the winter, when it was cold and dry enough to crack your lips. During this time of they year it was quiet in the city until it came around time for Christmas, when people would be fighting to buy the last pack of Candy Canes to use at their Christmas parties.

Many families were rushing to hide from the freezing rain underneath the roofs that protected their warm houses. I looked over at Kain.

Silo
His silver hair that was slicked back with gel was dry thanks to the dark cloak that he was wearing; it shielded him from the cold rain. His deep blue eyes wandered on the empty streets. His face was as cold as the rain, no emotions at all. It was as if he was caught in a trance. “It was raining just like this when it happened. . .” I said. My words broke his train of thought. He quickly gained his composer and smiled at me.

“It was, wasn’t it”, he said. The rain began to get harder and it started to hail. “Come on Silo. We better get out of the rain before we get sick.”

“Yeah. Wouldn’t want to get sick around Christmas Time, right Kain,” I agreed as I tapped him on the shoulder.
Kain

I wrapped my arm around Silo’s shoulder. Her coat was soaked with the falling rain. I looked at her soft blue eyes, covered by her dark brown hair. “You get so annoying,” I said as I messed with her hair.

“Cut it out,” she said jokingly. “You’re going to mess up my hair.”

“Like it isn’t messy enough.”

We began to walk downtown, heading towards our new residence. I looked over at my watch checking to see what time it was. In our new residence we were required to be back at the house before 10:30 and it was already well passed that. Silo noticed me looking at my watch. She was about to ask me something but I cut her off knowing what her question was. “We’re late,” I answered.

Silo
I gave him the “I’m going to kill you look” and said, “He is going to kill us.” Kain chuckled once.

“I’d like to see him try,” he protested. We started walking again towards the residential house. The street lights began to disappear behind us and our path ahead began to get increasingly darker. We soon came around the main curb that extended out next to the house.

“You don’t think that anything bad is going to happen, do you Kain,” I asked him.

“I won’t let anything bad happen to my one and only friend now would I?” He looked at me and stared at me with his hard blue eyes. I have to say, I think the only place that I can feel safe is with Kain.

Kain
As soon as Silo asked me that I thought of the crash. I . . . I was hopeless. I thought I was never going to get over our parents death. It reminded me of the time right after the accident, when we were both trying to recover mentally. Silo . . . she . . . she helped me a lot. I think I would have been lost without her. In a world where I saw my parents death reoccur over and over again. As we walked around the curb we came up to the gates that would lead to our house.

Our house, I guess you could say, was not any normal house. It was actually not even a house at all; it was a mansion that had over 200 rooms, some that even Silo and I were not aware of. The mansion was an old Victorian styled house that was filled with many antiques and objects from around the world. It was painted pure white, as all the old houses were painted. The garden beyond the gates did not cover up the fact that this house looked sinister and haunted.

“Why does it seem that every time we come back to this house it looks even more sinister than before?” Silo looked up at me and smiled that “why do you ask me stupid questions smile.”

“It’s because of the person who owns the house.”

“I hate to admit it but I think you might be right.” As soon as I said this Silo punched me in the arm.

Silo
“Why do you have to be such a butt,” I said as I punched him in the arm.

We opened the tall gates that led to the front of the house, as they opened they began to creak and screech due to the bolts and screws twisting and grinding. Kain and I gritted our teeth at the sound the gates made. I began to walk along the marble path that lead to the house gaining speed as we got closer to the doors. Kain began to have to run and I soon noticed that I was running to.

“Why are we running,” he asked as we came up the front stairs.

“I just have a bad feeling about this,” I said as I opened the humungous wooden door leading to the entrance.

“We’ve been late before, and he didn’t care,” he said closing the giant door behind me. We walked from the entrance to the stairs that led up to the 2nd story of the house. The marble stairs and floor emitted a squeaking noise due to our wet shoes rubbing against the cold, hard floor.

Kain was usually right when it came to this house and HIM, but this time it . . . it just felt different, like something ominous was looming over us. “I . . . I just don’t feel right. There’s . . . there’s just something wrong.” We came around to a very long hallway that rounded along the side of the house.

Kain
I didn’t know why Silo was acting so nervously. Her pace was faster, she started to sweat, and her voice began to escalate up and down. I started to wonder if that bad feeling of hers was right. I tried to comfort her. “Well if this feeling of yours is right, I promise not to let anything happen to you.” Apparently my words did not reach her.

Finally after the long hallway we reached the wooden door that led to our room. I opened the door for Silo and we both walked into the darkened room. Silo walked over to turn on the lights and as she did a very velvety voice was heard towards the middle of the room. “You’re late again.”

The voice made Silo and I jump. I turned towards the voice and bowed my head. “I’m sorry Von.” I apologized. “It was my fault that we are so late.”

Silo
Why was Kain apologizing? He never does that unless he knows that we are in trouble. I flipped on the light and there he was, standing next to our chair. Von, still the same. His face never changing.

Von was different than any normal person even from his features. His face was perfection soft and smooth to the touch and unscathed. His hair was the color of gold and eyes were as green as a tropical forest. He was wearing one of his many black formal suits with a tie tied tightly around the collar of his shirt.

“Taking the blame as always Kain?” His green eyes were staring directly at Kain and I. It seemed like his eyes were all-knowing and ancient; that they have seen a lot in the world, and it did not match his perfect young body. “Ah, well. Since it is your fault that you were late for your curfew then you must take twice the punishment.”

“Why does he need twice the punishment,” I said trying to protect Kain. “I was with him on my own accord, so I should get the same treatment!”

Kain quickly came up to my shoulder. “What has been said has already been said don’t get in matters that could danger yourself.” He left me dazed and confused, but this did include me and it wasn’t in his power to throw me out of it! Kain apparently new what I was thinking and took evasive action. He bent down to whisper in my ear. “Forgive me,” he said as suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I noticed that the pain was Kain’s fist to my stomach. Suddenly my vision began to fade in and out making me dizzy and then I noticed I was on a hard surface now, apparently the floor.

I looked back up in hate at Kain in Anger. “I . . . hate . . . you,” I groaned at him as I fell unconscious.
Kain

I did it for her own good you know. I turned back around to Von; he had a somewhat hidden smile on his face. “Sorry about that.” I apologized to him and her. She was probably going to kill me for this when she awoke.

Surprisingly he chuckled a little bit. “You really care for Silo, don’t you?” I was still kinda shocked by the fact that he laughed. It took me a minute to realize what he had just asked me.

“Yeah I think I care more for her than she does me” I joked. I looked back at Silo lying on the floor. “Sorry.” I said again. I then walked over to the door that lead back out into the long hallway. “Well, shall we get this over with.”

“Indeed we should.” Von replied. I opened the door for Von and followed him back down the marble hallway and stairs, to the entrance room. We walked in silence as he led me through the dining room to the living room. There were no rooms after the living room but there was a magnificent painting of a very old medieval man flying towards a beautiful woman in the heavens. Unfortunately though he was being pulled back toward hell by the devil’s minions. The man and the woman had two holes on the side of their necks.

Von began to speak as we approached the painting over the fire place. “Do you know the story of this panting,” he asked me with his perfect voice. I scanned the painting, trying to remember if I had ever heard a whisper or a rumor of it in this godforsaken town.

“I don’t believe so,” I replied not knowing what the painting meant.

Von walked up to the fireplace and traced the mantle with his finger. “This painting tells a story of a man who offered his soul to the devil to walk among the gods with his beloved.” He looked at me to see if I was following along with him.

“And.” I said signaling that I was listening to him and was ready for him to continue.

I watched him as he gazed at the painting with sorrow filled eyes. He continued. “The man, when he was human, was in love with a very beautiful and wonderful woman. She was very elegant and intelligent, but she was of noble blood and he was just merely a poor starving peasant. Even though the man was just a mere peasant he was once a very well known magician who helped right books and manufacture spells to save people from the terror of death. They both loved each other with their body and soul. Unfortunately they had to meet in secrecy to keep each other from being seen by the town’s people who would have killed both of them because of the societies they were in.” Von’s story had a strong hold of me . . . almost as if I could see what was happening and as if I could feel the emotions that the two forsaken lovers had felt.

“One day the woman became deathly ill and began to whither away. The man was forbidden to see the woman because of his social rank. He loved her so much that the man had decided to sneak into the house to try and help her with all of his healing spells. Unfortunately the house guards caught him and had him exiled from the country. He tried to send her letters that were wrote with a worried and caring heart, but none ever reached her. Then one day as he was delivering a letter to the carrier a messenger arrived with a letter. Within the letter contained words of his beloved that asked to see him once more before she withered away completely. The woman asked to meet him under the tree when the moon was at its highest.”

“He went to the tree the day on the day written in the letter and waited. Soon his frail love came late at night to meet the man. Her skin so pail and her composer so frail they slept under the stars together.”

“It’s so sad.” I said. “Their love was that strong.” I noticed that my legs had moved on there own. I was now sitting on the velvet couch facing the fire place. I also noticed that Von had just lit a fire, still looking at the painting. The orange light danced along with our shadows on the walls making them look playful and sinister at the same time. He continued again, his eyes now watching the flames.

“In the morning the woman . . .” he paused as if looking for the right words, “had passed away during the night. The man felt like his world was crumbling beneath his feet that he shouldn’t have to live his life without his love. He held her frail body in his arms thinking of some way to bring his beloved back. With his mind clouded with hatred of God, he summoned the devil to earth.” He paused after he finished his sentence. I felt hatred in his voice as he spoke as if he was the man that went through all of this pain. I leaned in closer, the suspense drawing me in. Von sat next to me his eyes deep in thought. I watched his expressionless face covered with shadows and orange light as he told the story. My hand traced the stitches on the side of the couch, feeling the soft velvet between my fingers.

“The devil proposed a deal to the man saying that he would give him powers to bring his lover back to life. Though there was a price to pay for this god-like power. Without hearing what the price was the man took the offer. His strength and speed grew, and his life became almost immortal, but instead of it being a gift it became a curse. . . Unknowingly he gave his blood to his love and soon she was reborn just as he was. When she awoke to find out what the man had done and what she had become she committed suicide not accepting that she had become . . . a monster. She left him alone for the rest of time to walk the earth alone making those who wanted his followers. Along that road he took the lives of many drinking their energy from there veins to keep alive, and hide in the shadows to keep his strengths a secret.” Von sat there unmoving staring at the dancing flames. I was now lost in thought just as Von was before me.

“Such a sad, sad story,” I said. Von looked at me then. “So I guess the man became a demon or . . . a vampire.”

“Yes that is one name that they are called.”

“So was this my punishment,” I asked.

“This was only a sliver. Your punishment will be much worse.” He smiled as he said this showing glossy white fangs on the sides of his mouth. I flipped over backwards falling off of the couch not believing what I had scene.

“Don’t tell me your one too!” I began to run for the door that led out of the living room. I busted the door down with my stumbling body, landing hard on top of the now broken door. I tried to get up but noticed that Von was lifting me up now with one hand not even flinching or shaking from the weight of me.

“Kain, I have wanted your blood for a long time now. Ever since the day I brought you and Silo into this house.” He brought his head down to my neck. My blood and adrenaline was rushing through my body, pumped by fear. Von rubbed his teeth against my neck breathing hard from bloodlust. “Your blood smells so . . . so very good. It’s hard to restrain myself from tearing your throat out.”

“If you’re going to kill me then just do it!!”

“Oh, I can’t do that. You and Silo are much too valuable and I need you.”

“If you touch a hair on Silo I’ll kill you,” I threatened. It really didn’t affect him he was the one in control right now and our comparison in strength was that of a god and a normal weakling human like me.

“I’m sorry to crush your hopes but you don’t have a chance the way you are now.” He smiled as he said this. I hated to admit it but he was right, I was weak and he was smarter and more experienced than I was. Surprisingly I started to laugh at that fact.

“Yeah, I know, but after this I will get my revenge, after I use you to get control of my strength.” I started to laugh again hearing my last words repeat over in my head.

“You always had a sense of humor even in danger,” said Von he put his head back down to my neck. “I’ll try to be easy,” he whispered softly into my ear. He grabbed my hair and pulled my head back exposing my neck. “Smells good can’t wait to see what your friend will taste like.” My anger made my body tense up making my blood circulate like crazy. “You touch her I’ll kill you!”

His bloodlust overpowering him, Von sunk his teeth into my strained neck. As his sharp fangs pierced my flesh I gritted my teeth trying to take my mind off of the pain. It felt like getting thorns stabbed into me. My hand balled up into a fist trying not to think of what I was doing to Silo, leaving her alone like this. Suddenly I felt Von dig his fangs deeper into my neck, I gasped in pain not prepared for that one surge. I then felt him sucking the life out of me. The room around me began to get distorted and I could feel my feet began to slowly slide out from underneath me. Within a few minutes I started to feel pleasure course throughout my body, making it feel wonderful, due to the blood being pulled out in large amounts. As I soon became closer to the floor I noticed that Von was now holding me up off of the floor as I lay in his arms lifelessly.

Minutes passed by until he finally he laid me onto the floor and removed his fangs from my neck. I laid there gasping desperately for air for it would not reach my lungs. Von took a letter opener and slit his wrist with it. Blood began to seep out from his wrist dropping on the nearby floor. “You must drink my blood in order for you to live now,” he said calmly to me. He lifted me up, my mouth aligned with his bloodied wrist. I grabbed it wearily with my shaky hands and began to suck the blood out of his wrist and into my mouth. As I drank pictures flashed through my head, pictures of a man and a woman, apparently the story that Von had just told me. I began to drink more. I looked up as I drank from Von. His emerald green eyes were now the color of darkened blood. “That’s enough,” he said to me. Without warning I immediately let go, not knowing why and fell back onto the cold marble floor.

The pictures began to flash faster into my head making my head pulse in pain. I saw and felt all of the feelings of the man through these memories. I then felt very cold like I was in a winter snowstorm, naked. I started shivering uncontrollably from the coldness that emitted from within my body. My chest then pulsed hard my heartbeat escalating and then going down to a soft murmur, until finally it was no more. I felt my vision of the flames on the walls fade away into darkness and afterwards my hearing followed. All that was left to me was darkness. “Silo. . .”

Silo
“Uh, my stomach,” I said as grabbed my lower torso in pain as I got up from the ground. I used a nearby chair for support as I did so. I wondered where Kain went after he socked me in my stomach. “b*****d,” I said referring to my pain inflicting friend. I walked over to the door and reached to turn the knob when I suddenly heard a loud crash from downstairs. “What was that?!”

I ran out into the hall and down the stairs to the entrance of the house. I heard voices near the study and walked slowly trying to be as quit as possible on the hard marble floor. I quietly walked over to the corner that was just on the side of the study and listened. “Kain you cannot walk out in broad sunlight if the light catches you, you will be discovered. You must also eat in secrecy.”

“What are they talking about,” I muttered to myself. I held my breath trying to hear over the sound of my heart beating due to adrenaline. Suddenly all of the talking ceased.

“And Kain . . . you must not tell Silo of this.” I suddenly noticed at this point in time that my shadow was on the wall across from the corner completely visible to Von and Kain. I turned around the corner to apologize but, no one was there.

“Was I just imagining this??” I slowly walked back up to my room surprised to find Kain sitting there. “What happened, and why did you punch me,” I said furiously. Kain just sat there motionless. “What’s up . . .” Kain got up and walked over to me.

“I’m sorry, so very sorry.” He wrapped his arms around me. For some reason his embrace felt different, instead of the warm hugs that would make me smile this one was icy cold like the fire had been sucked out of his body.

“You’re so cold.” He took a step away from me, his face filled with sadness.

“Kain? What happened when I was unconscious?” As I asked that question it triggered guilt to wash all over his face.

“Nothing . . . nothing happened,” he replied. Now I knew that was a lie, best friends have this thing where they can connect better to each other than most people can, and I could feel what he was feeling. He walked over to the bed and laid down, his arms behind his head. I sat next to him on the bed. “I can’t tell you. I know I can tell you anything, but just not this. I’m afraid I would lose you.”

What did he mean by lose you. I don’t get it. “What if I found out on my own,” I asked. He sat up and smiled his wide smile. Now that I can do, Von didn’t mention that YOU couldn’t find out on your own.” I yawned. “Yeah . . . that way you don’t have to get in trouble.” I noticed by this time I began to fall asleep. “I’m getting sleepy.” I rolled over and drifted off into sleep.

Kain
Finally for once in her life Silo said something smart, but I don’t know if it would get me out of the trouble that I was already neck deep in. I watched her fall asleep. I leaned over her to see if she was sleeping easily. I could here Silo’s heart beating rhythmically in my head. It sounded so alluring, the blood rushing by, her heart working to pump blood. I looked at her neck and began to slowly creep towards it. My breathing began to get heavy and my fangs began to grow. I licked the side of Silo’s neck hearing her heart beat faster in her sleep, and not realizing what I was doing.

When I finally noticed what I was doing I leaped back off of the bed ashamed of what I had almost done. I ran into the bathroom and locked the door. Leaning over the sink I looked into the mirror to see the monster I had become. My hair was a still the same silver color, but when I looked at my face it hit me. I had no lines or wrinkles anywhere. My eyes were bluer than anything that I had ever seen in my life. My bones were etched perfectly into my face. My skin was pure white and smooth to the touch, but what really shocked me were my fangs. They were like daggers in my mouth sharp, enough to cut through steel. I lifted my hand up to my teeth and lightly pressed my fingertips against them. It instantly sliced my finger open.

After this whole scene I walked out of the bathroom and sat on Silo’s bed, looking at her. “What have I become?”

Silo
I noticed in the next following days that Kain’s skin had become several shades paler and his blue eyes were bluer than ever before. He wasn’t even eating his food. He basically looked like the living dead, and for a time I started to believe it.

“Kain, are you sure you don’t need to see a doctor. I mean you’re freezing cold, I haven’t seen you eat in days, and you won’t step foot out of this house. You also have been distancing yourself from me. What’s wrong?” I grabbed his hand my eyes pleading to know why he was acting so weird. Kain ripped his hand away from me.

“Nothing is wrong with me!! I’m perfectly fine!!”

“Don’t even start!! I know well enough when my friend is in pain. I can feel it emanating from you. And I don’t want you to be in any more pain.” I could feel the tears coming on and tried to hold back from crying. Kain looked at me with his blue eyes. They were filled with sorrow and anger. Realizing what he had just done he lifted my chin up and whipped the tears from my eyes.

This time I grabbed his hand and pushed it off of my face. “Just . . . forget it,” I said as I walked away from him. I hate it when he looks at me with those eyes filled with sorrow. I miss the old Kain, the one that would protect me with his smile. I opened the door and slammed it behind me. I could feel his sorrowful eyes watching my every move. Tears began to slide down the sides of my face.

“I HATE YOU!!” I was so mad that I had started to cry. I ran down to the living room, through the dining room, and into the study where the fireplace was. Drying the tears off of my face I slumped onto the soft blue velvet couch.

Apparently Von had lit the fireplace. He was sitting on a side chair to the right of the couch.

“Having some problems,” he asked with his perfect voice that gave me goose bumps. I nodded trying to substitute my breaking voice for his answer. “Well, that’s not good is it now.” Von got up from the chair and sat next to me.

“I just don’t understand.” I cupped my face in my hands.

“Did Kain tell you anything Silo,” Von asked with a worried expression on his face.

“He hasn’t told me anything.” Although I wish he did.

“I guess there has been a change in plans. Silo you heard us talking the other night correct.” That question caught me off guard.

“I . . . uh . . . I didn’t mean to eavesdrop or anything.”

“I know you weren’t . . . anyways, that night when Kain disobeyed the house rules it left me no choice.”

“What are you talking about Von?” This wasn’t making any sense.

“What I am trying to say Silo is that I turned Kain into a vampire.”

“A . . . vampire.” Suddenly I noticed that I had burst out laughing. “Sorry, but a vampire?” That’s the first time I have ever heard that one. Von didn’t take this as a joke his eyes turned from green to a gold color as he leaned in closer.

“The only thing I do not like is when people don’t believe what they first hear.” A deep growling sound in his chest convinced me enough wipe that smile clean off of my face.
“Oh . . . I . . . uh . . . see.” I started to sweat my heartbeat accelerating at a fast pace.

“Do not worry. I won’t turn you. . .” Von grabbed some of my hair and slid it out of the way of my neck. “. . . Even though it is tempting.” He said as he traced my neck line. I shivered from his ice cold hands. “There is someone who wants you for something else Silo. Oh, and Silo you are the only one who can help him. You might want to go find him before he dies of thirst.” Our conversation ended on his words.

I quickly got up and ran out of the study heading for our room. What was wrong with Kain? If anything happened to him I would die. I stumbled a few times up the stairs my head moving faster than my legs and soon I opened the door to our room. Kain was nowhere in sight. I called his name a couple of times until I heard panting coming from the bathroom. Without knocking I walked in.

Kain was lying on the floor, his back against the sink. He looked horrible like he was dying. I sat Kain up and looked him in the eyes. “Kain? Kain? Are you alright?” I lifted his face up with my hand, shocked by what I had found. His eyes had turned the same color gold as Von’s had earlier. He now had white daggers protruding from the side of his mouth. “What has that monster done to you?”

“D . . . don’t come near me Silo. I . . . I don’t want to hurt you.” I leaned towards him looking into his golden eyes.

“You need blood don’t you,” I asked as I scanned his body with my eyes. “I know you need it.” I began to unbutton my shirt volunteering to settle his thirst for now. I propped myself up towards Kain, my neck next to his mouth. He started to breathe harder now, almost as if he was had run a mile. “Kain I don’t want to see you in pain. . .”

“Why is this happening to me,” he breathed into my ear making me shiver uncontrollably. My heart rate jumped about ten beats up as he began to lick the sides of my neck softly.

“Ah, just do it before you cause yourself any more pain and plus, we’re friends right; when one takes pain so does the other.” He looked at me with those golden eyes. They were filled with sorrow and much distress. Kain then began to lick the right side of my neck again rubbing his razor sharp fangs against me. “Ah.”

Finally he sank his shedders into my flesh slowly and painlessly, digging his fangs deeper by the second. Kain then started to suck the blood from my new holes that he implanted into the side of my neck. Pleasure began to fill my body as he began to suck; the hot blood coursing through my body, being transferred into his veins. My skin began to get hot, and I felt different. “Ah . . . this feels weird,” I said as part of my life was being drained from my body.

The pleasure of this bite was so intoxicating that I put my hand on the back of his head and made him dig deeper, sucking larger amounts from my body. Soon after the pleasure began to leave and my body began to get week. “Kain . . . stop, it hurts.” He didn’t stop he continued ignoring my words. “Kain . . .,” my vision started to get blurry. “Please . . . let . . . go of me.” Without warning he tore his fangs out of my skin and began to gasp, taking large amounts of air into his lungs.

I fell to the floor, almost as if I was lifeless, unable to move, speak, and almost not able to breathe. And then I blacked out.

Kain
The power that was coursing through my body was incomprehensible, and I loved it. It felt like a fire, so hot that it could burn the devil himself, was coursing through my veins. I held my hands up looking at each one of them, feeling the strength within these arms, strength to protect Silo . . . I looked in front of me realizing that Silo was on the floor unconscious again. “What happened,” I said to myself. I felt something itching on the side of my mouth and decide to wipe it. Instead of an itch it was a very thick liquid almost . . . almost like . . . blood.

I took a nearby towel and wiped it off instantly throwing it into the tub afterwards as if it was a bad omen. Silo heaved a hard cough that caught my attention once again. Looking at her I discovered that what was on my face was not that of mine but Silo’s blood. “What have I done?”
