This one is deep...

You brought me poison,
And I longed to consume it,
For the rodents on that street,
I had befriended.
I had sunk so low,
Because of the pieces,
Because of the puzzle,
That I couldn't finish.
If I had listened,
With my head,
And not my heart;
If the warning I had heeded,
Then it would have never,
Gone that far.
I saw what was never there,
A fantasy,an illusion,
And for trusting it,
The price I paid.
It was so cold,
And empty on that street.
And it smelt, stunk,
Of death and decay,
Of lifeless bodies,
With broken dreams,
As their bones.
And in that alley,
Is where you met me,
Tired and alone.
You looked upon me,
With great disdain,
And while you looked down at me,
You painted a halo, over your head,
One which will wash away,
As soon as it rains!
For in your eyes,
I was beneath you,
For wanting a dream,
I was beneath you,
For believing it was real.
The street of corruption,
Which you walked quickly passed,
Was then my home,
Because I thought an illusion,
Would somehow last.
And when you saw me,
As you passed by,
You offered me your poison,
To kiss my soul goodbye.
I know you never loved me,
That's why you said it clear,
"I want you to eat this poison,
For your shame you cannot bear."
Those words you uttered,
And they smashed,
What was left of my heart.
And there, on that street,
I looked at you,
With moisture in my eyes.
"If you wish it,
I would kill myself,
I'd willingly give my soul.
But first, you must promise,
That my secrets you will hold."
You simply nodded in understanding,
And I took the capsules,
From your hand,
And silently I consumed them,
Noticing you never met my eyes.
In agony I closed mine,
And emotional, I began to pray.
"God, forgive him,
For he knows not what he's done.
He knows not of the joy,
Which he has killed for this young one."
And I was beckoned to heaven,
From above I watched as time flew,
Knowing that on that street you'd never be forgotten,
Nor the Poison you brought with you.
