The floor gave way and both Michael and Vincent fell through. When Michael landed, he heard a loud crunching sound “I think I broke something.” He groaned but managed to get up unscathed save a sore back. “Never mind,” He said “some strange fish thing broke my fall.” He said with little reverence for the creature and poked it with his sword. Vincent silently landed behind him.
“Boo.” Vincent told him quietly into his ear.
Michael jumped and fell down “I hate you.” He restated.
"I know.” Vincent shrugged and sensed the presence of his sword. Vincent looked out over the flooded cavern and a fish from above dropped down and bounced off his head; Vincent did his best to ignore the fish and jumped off to the caverns below, leaving Michael alone on the outcropping.
The boat, hull newly covered in protective ice, crashed down beside him with Diamond and Izazu inside. They pulled Michael in as they slid toward the edge, gaining momentum as the edge sloped. Vincent’s assault resulted in much of the caverns being flooded so the former high points and out croppings were reduced to but islands in the Vincent made lake. Michael clung on for dear life as the boat plummeted (He had never liked roller coasters) as Diamond cheered loudly. They managed to land on a dry island “That was intense.” Diamond laughed in an out of breath manner, Michael was shell shocked, and Izazu was clinging to his seat with white knuckles.
Vincent surfaced and pulled himself onto the island “It isn’t down there.” He told them, he figured a creature was currently hoarding it somewhere underwater. Vincent swore to give hell to whatever was holding his precious sword hostage. All four of them looked up as a strange rumbling feeling permeated the air, the kind makes your instincts cry out danger, or in Michael’s case “It’s a Trap!”. The shadow of a giant serpent creature swam beneath them.
The Leviathan burst out of the water and flung Izazu into the water with a swing of its tail before submerging again. Izazu surfaced a good bit away and began swimming back and the Leviathan came up behind him, intent on getting Izazu in its belly. It waited until Izazu was close to the island before moving in for the kill, to make it all the more traumatizing for the three who were trying to help Izazu.
Just when the chaser and chased got close enough, Vincent jumped up and brought another super punch down on the Leviathan’s head, sending the beast downward at an angle where it rammed the pillar that supported the island. Both the Leviathan’s protective helmet and the pillar cracked and Michael and Diamond pulled Izazu up onto the island, Vincent climbed back up again though unnoticed “You okay?” Michael asked Izazu.
“I’ll live.” Izazu joked, sitting down for a moment of rest.
“Not funny.” Michael smiled and looked around “What now?” he asked the others “That is going to be one pissed fish, and we can’t exactly fight it in the water.” He shrugged and sighed, he wondered what the odds of them surviving were.
“You can’t.” Diamond corrected Michael “I’m an Ice Draconian, this is like home to me.” She told him confidently “Watch and learn, boys.” She walked towards the edge as her Draconian armor began to form over her body; her torso was covered with a blue armor designed for speed. The gauntlets fully covered her hands and were blue in color; they were adorned with claws as a means to attack. Greaves formed over her lower legs and feet, covering them much like boots. Diamond’s appearance became more draconic, resulting in two massive ice blue wings sprouting from her back and she jumped into the water to confront the Leviathan. Diamond beat her wings to glide smoothly through the water and, surely enough, the Leviathan gave chase. Diamond weaved between the pillars and high speeds, forcing the considerably larger Leviathan to twist and turn in order to continue its pursuit. Diamond sped up and pulled up right before hitting a column, which the Leviathan wasn’t fortunate enough to avoid.
Above water, Michael watched a small island vanish underwater and kept a firm grip on Nirvana, the three of them were keeping a lookout for the Leviathan “I wonder if Diamond is alright.” He thought out loud.
“She can take care of herself.” Vincent shrugged his reply was punctuated by the Leviathan with Diamond on its head, trying to pry of the weakened helmet.
-Moments earlier-
Diamond looked back at the beast as she realized there probably weren’t enough pillars in the world to kill that thing. She sped back up so the Leviathan would give chase again, the Leviathan did just that and Diamond pulled back so she could latch onto its helmet. Furious at the unwelcomed guest, the Leviathan twisted and turned before bursting out of the water in an attempt to buck her.
-Back to the situation at hand-
Both Diamond and the Leviathan hit the water. While the beast could keep it up, Diamond needed to end it so she shoved her arm into its right eye and tore the eye out. The Leviathan roared in pain and began to act increasingly reckless as it left a trail of blood in the water. Using its anger to her advantage, Diamond let go and began swimming again. She led the Leviathan on at full speed to inflicting a mortal wound on the floor. Its helmet was broken enough to where it fell off when the Leviathan began chasing her again.
The cavern seemed to shake and Michael looked to Vincent “Diamond?” he asked, seeing Vincent’s worried look.
“My sword.” He lied to both Michael and himself, maybe Izazu if Izazu was interested. He wasn’t going to admit to himself if Michael was right about him.
“Fore!” Izazu yelled when the Leviathan burst out of the water and crashed onto the island. Michael moved in for the kill and plunged Nirvana into the Leviathan’s exposed head, the creature gave one last death flop before biting it and falling into the water.
The crack in the pillar gave out and the platform sunk into the water. In a moment power by instinct, Michael grabbed Izazu and jumped for it. When the chaos settled, Michael and Izazu were hanging onto a ledge by Nirvana, which took the form gained from the Leviathan’s soul.
When the platform they stood on hit the floor, it punctured it and all of the water rushed down to the abandoned circles of hell below, leaving the floors of the caverns exposed. The Leviathan’s body had fallen through the hole as well.
After getting down they met up with Vincent and Diamond, who had changed back to her regular outfit, “Found your sword?” Michael asked Vincent.
“Not yet.” He said, he paused and scanned the room that was littered with rubble and broken pillars from the fight “Shouldn’t envy be near?” he asked Diamond when he turned back to the group
“Yeah, it is.” She dried off her hair with the nearest towel aka Michael’s coat “Guess the flood let the Leviathan out.” She noted “Wonder who could have caused that?” she glared at Vincent.
“If you didn’t push me off.” He responded.
“If you did say anything.” Diamond growled in response.
“Let’s get going.” Izazu said to diffuse the tensions. “It’s not like it’s going to get any worse.” He grinned to reassure them. Surely as the sun sets in the west and spammers take up space in forums, it got worse when strange fish things surrounded them and held up spears to insure the compliance of the new prisoners.
“It got worse.” Michael told Izazu, now getting hand cuffed.
“I know.” He laughed sheepishly and got hand cuffed along with Diamond and Vincent, all of them opting for the not getting killed part of valor.
