The room seemed an erie quiet as Eben closed the door behind him. The click seemed to bounce off the walls, vibrating like a fragile bell. It made him fear that he'd disturbed something, or someone in the room.
"Hello?" He whispered as he shed his coat, carefully placing it on an empty table top. The wood was smoothed, refreshing. Eben felt his fingertips tingle at the seemingly frozen polish glazing the small table.
