alrighty, I missed a couple of days. but i'm back.
today I watched a couple of movies from my taped video collection.
the first one is Avalon. I mentioned it before in previous journal entries.
It takes place in the near future somewhere in europe (poland), with a crappy economy going on (as usual). many people use a form of escapist entertainment, by jacking into a virtual form of combat adventure that they can also earn money with. Ash, the heroine of the movie, is one of the top players of the game. she was once part of a unstoppable team, that broke up because of one failure. she learns the fate of one of her teammates that entered the highest class (class real) in the game that they play. He ends up as a living vegetable.
Meanwhile, she gains a way into class real with a mission to kill the bug that infected the program. That bug turns out to be her former teammate who's body is in a hospital in a vegetative state. how will the two highly experienced players face each other in the end? I'm not telling...
the other movie was "Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different". A composite of many of there classic comic sketches from the there popular tv show. Never heard of them? think very silly English comedy.
My favorite bit is the lumberjack song.
