Lindsey was sitting on a bench with her friend opening a pack of gum.
"Eww. How can you get that flavor?" Her friend, bethany, asked.
Lindsey shrugged. "I just wanted to try something new." Lindsey is always trying new things. That's why currently her hair has blue tips everywhere. She takes a peice of berry mint gum out and offers it to Bethany, who shakes her head.
"Not uh! I wan't you to try it first." Beth, as Lindsey called her, never has been really into suprises or changes. She has a scrunched up face when Lindsey pops the peice of gum in her mouth.
"How is it?" Beth asked.
"Hm.." I say, taking in the flavors that she knew were going fade too quickly. "It's not bad. In fact.. I like it"
"Really?"
"Yeah, you wan't a peice now that I've sampled it for you?"
"Sure" Bethany reaches for the gum. "Are you sure it's tasty?" Lindey nods. Beth continues to take a peice of gum out from the wrapper.
"Here goes nothing" She says like it's a dicision of life or death. She stands her tall body up and walks to throw both gum wrappers in the trash can not far from the bench in which they were sitting. Beth let's out a breathe, and quickly puts the gum in her mouth. She takes a few bites and a horrible expression appears on her face.
"Eww!" She shreiks. "That's gross! She hurridly runs to the trash can, and spits that gum out.
"Wow, thanks. Now I can spit mine out too." Lindsey says as she herself gets up and spits the pink wad of gum in the trash. Lindsey isn't as tall as Beth, but more slender. "That gum was gross."
"Then why did you say you liked it?" She shouts, baffled.
"All I wanted to do is get you to try it. You need to lighten up." Bethany stuck out her tongue. "Whatever, that won't help. We need to continue our day" Lindsey re-adjusted her purse and took Beth's arm. With such busy schedules, this was one of their rare days they could just hangout. It's gotten much more difficult now that Lindsey's parents enrolled her into a different school. Even though the new years hasn't started yet, getting ready for it was taking all their time. Especially now that Lindsey was going to a better, more educated, school. This upset Beth very much. She really didn't mind not being as smart as Lindsey, but she was hurt that that meant Lindsey would go to another school. Beth had quite a few things going for her as well. Beth was in Volleyball and Soccer. They school that she's going to doesn't specialize much in better classes for the smarter, but was known more for the attention they give to atheletes. And because of that, Lindsey's parents decided to split her best friend away from her.
Sorry. I don't really know what that was about, but I wanted to expiriment in a new way of writing.
