Te night was rich, as it was aught to be on such a... joyous occasion. And joyous it was, from a political standpoint. Of course, the young man mused, he expected no part in this 'joyousness'. And, to be honest, he really aught to stop using the word.
The werewolf cast an uninterested stare back out the window, one that pierced most every object that dared pass by. It seemed as though everyone and their grandmother was going to this special 'ball' where everyone and, once again, their respective grandmother would try and woo the royal vampire twins. Or each other. Honestly, it didn't matter to him. What mattered was the reason why he was going, a reason that was as silly as the whole ordeal itself. He was told to. And, in case anyone was wondering, it was indeed his grandmother who picked out the evening's dress.
Felix groaned, albeit inwardly and was forced to deal with another bump in the road, one that caused his tailbone to hurt mercilessly. Just shoot me with a silver bullet-! He wished he could've walked. The little bell on his neck tinkled merrily, procuring another spiteful glare from its owner. This was going to be one heck of a ride...
The castle loomed overhead and the winding road stretched far, a white ribbon into the dark. He only wished it stretched farther. He'd have to be formal, soon. Not lazing around, both arms thrown over the back of the seat defiantly.
When the carriage came to a screeching halt, the werewolf gave a resigned sigh. The ordeal was to be endured. Well maybe they would have some good wine so he could at least enjoy himself in that way. Maybe some interesting people, as well. Felix had resolved himself not to inquire about the race of anyone he was bound to meet. Just so as not to miss the chance to chat it up with some vampires without any grounds to do otherwise. And once he entered the oak doors, he wouldn't be able to see, or smell, the difference.
