The bodies of castle guards were being flung all over the castle grounds.
Half of the guards were scared off by the large snakes of liquid conjured up by Zapook's magic, and out of the half that did face her magic, very few got around the creatures she had summoned, only to fall due to Zapook's speed and claws.
By the time Zapook had actually made it to the front door, she was worn out, and had exhausted more power than she thought she would need. Even the storm that had followed Zapook onto the castle grounds was starting to break up. Boem, who was watching the chaos from afar, rushed to her side as she pushed the doors open.
On the other side of the door were white marble floors and luxurious gold and white furniture, fancy blue wall paper plastered expertly on the walls. As she walked into the lobby of the castle, more guards, wearing the same bland dark gray or black robes surrounded her carrying chains and spears. These guards had hoods that hid their faces as well.
Out of the crowd, one of the guards had a pitch black robe, decorated with bits of gold, and wielded metal claws instead of a chain or spear. Zapook took a fighting stance, but was too exhausted to go on anymore, and collapsed in front of the crowd. Once again, though, luck was on her side.
When she opened her eyes again, she looked around and found herself lying in a bed. The room was like a bedroom in a five star hotel with white furniture, walls and carpet.
Boem was curled up on the bed next to her, calmly sleeping, "Where...am I?"
Zee's voice echoed from a nearby door, "My room. You idiot."
"Who are you callin...ZEE!!" Zapook rushed through the doorway, finding Zee standing in front of a bathroom sink with a toothbrush in her mouth. She tackled Zee, squealing, and starting a tussle between the two of them that lasted for about five minutes. The scuffle ended when some one entered the room. Zapook rushed out of the bathroom to confront the person with Zee close behind her, only to see Yinxao closing the door behind her. From under the large leather had, Yinxao stared at Zapook with this hard, empty look before tearing up and lunging forward, wrapping her arms around Zapook.
"Pookie!!! I missed you!!"
Zapook was confused at first, then slowly hugged Yinxao back, "Um..Hi? What's going on!"
Just then, a small playful voice rang out all around them, and echoed through the halls of the castle. "Greetings my mew mews. It has come to my attention that someone has be brought into dear Castle Kyut without my knowledge. I need the head guards to report to me immediately."
Zee sighs, straightening her robes. "That's my cue."
"You're a head guard!?"
"You expect me to be on the janitorial staff? Sheesh. I'd rather be fightin then scrubbin Ivy's toilet. Be back in a bit. I'll tell a friend of ours that you're here though."
Zee quickly left, her foot steps fading as she runs down the hall.
Zapook turned to Yinxao, "Where am I? What happened?"
Yinxao sighed, "Zapook...there's something I've been meaning to tell you..."
"Hold on." Zapook interrupted. "She called everyone here her 'mew mews'... and if Zee's one of the head guards, does that mean everyone here workin in those robes are all cat girls?"
"Um...Yes. Why?"
"...I was fighting cats...and I'm currently surrounded by felines all throughout this castle..."
"Well...yes."
"...I think ...I need to lay down."
With a loud thud, Zapook fell over, collapsing on the floor once more.
Yinxao knelt down beside her, lightly shaking her, while Boem yawned and peered over the bedside at his master's unconscious body. "Zapook? Pookie, get up! ...Jeeze..."
