Z3R0
Chapter 8: Revelation

Near was in shock. With Cri gone and not able to answer any questions, he was sitting and thinking on top of a large rock overlooking an even larger forest.

“This… can’t be right.” Near thought to himself, his eyes open, full of confusion and thought. This was the first time in hundreds, no, thousands of years that he was at a loss for what to do.

“Sayago… she was never supposed to come back, LET ALONE BE ALIVE!” He shouted suddenly at the forest. Several birds flew out of the trees, cawing. He put his hands on his face. He had no idea what to do; he may have been alive for over eight thousand years, but since he hadn’t aged much on the outside, he was still a fourteen year old boy.

“She’s not supposed to be able to return. I should know, I tried to bring her back!” He said suddenly, kicking at the air in front of him. “Is this a dream? Or reality?” He asked, covering his face with his hands again.

“It’s pretty real.” A voice said from behind him. Near did not turn around or get up.

“You’re not real.” He said.
“Of course I am.”
“But how?”
“All in due time, Justin.” The voice said from behind him as he turned his head.

“You really know how to get me worked up, don’t you.” He muttered.

“Yup!” She replied. She had red hair and dark blue eyes. The cloak still covered her body though.

“So the Divine One Sayago has finally returned... but for what?” Near thought to himself.

Uni was alone. Miyun had gone off with a couple of her friends. “Well well well… what should I do now?” He asked himself out loud. He was walking through Orez, canceling out the voices around him, thinking and looking at the sky. He hadn’t noticed it yet, but all the voices around him were becoming quieter and quieter. He finally realized this when he heard no sound at all. Everybody started vanishing. His mind worked as quickly as it could to assess the situation in front of him. As he thought, the buildings and the city began to vanish as well! Uni looked on in surprise as the endless green field surrounded him.

“What’s going on? An illusion?” He asked himself, feeling an intense amount of energy. He looked around, trying to find something, anything at all that might give him some clue as to what was going on.

“Do you like it? The trick I pulled? Actually, I had a friend whip it up.” A voice said from all sides of Uni.

“Who are you?” Uni cried out, starting to run at the man who replied swiftly, “I am The First’s true leader.”

“But you’re supposed to be dead!”
“But I’m not.”
“Then why have we been fighting for the past three thousand five hundred years?”
“You all fell in to The Creator’s trap.”

Uni looked disgusted as he averted his gaze to the ground. “So then why have you come back? Aren’t you supposed to be fighting with him, Zero?” He asked.

The cloak fell off the man revealing a slick black jacket, belt, and pants. The silver-haired golden-eyed boy smiled. Zero had returned.

The third figure had kept coming back to S City. Each time, Simon and Val had observed his abilities and techniques.

“Clearly he’s better than most of the warriors of Z3R0.” Simon observed as he watched the man fight. Val nodded happily. Cri landed near the two with a large impact, sending Val flying into Simons arms out of fright. Simon held her calmly as she settled down and got angry at Cri. She smacked him when she got down from Simon’s arms. Cri sighed as he ignored the attack and turned his head to Simon.

“What do you want?” Simon asked as Val tried to calm herself down. Again.

“Give me your best guess. Who do you think this person is?” Cri asked, blinking once. Simon looked at Val, who looked embarrassed as she climbed out of Simon’s arms. He opened his black book and flipped through it. He stopped on a page filled with information. “Judging from what I’ve seen, he fights like one of the Big Three.” He answered. Cri looked satisfied before asking another question.

“How do you know about them?”
“I know a few of Z3R0’s secrets.” Simon answered confidently. Val looked confused as always and stayed silent.

“So which one do you think it is?” Cri asked.
“I would say it is… The Doctor.”
“You mean James?”
“Yes, but I don’t choose to say their real names out of respect.” Simon answered, closing his black book.

“So why don’t you think it’s Kevin or Jason?” Cri asked without hesitation. “More importantly, why do you thinks it’s the Big Three at all?” They’ve hidden their appearance and power for as long as they’ve been here, so how would you know?”

“Just a feeling. And I don’t think it’s The Samurai or The Bomber because of the way the man fights. Just watch.” Simon explained. The man was being attacked by a large machine with a rider on top of it. The man avoided every attack with ease, jumping on top of the machine and slicing off the rider’s arm with his own. It fell off without reason. “You see?” Simon pointed out, turning his attention back to Cri.

“But why couldn’t it be Justice?” Cri asked as he turned to leave.

Val finally spoke up. “Because Justice is dead!” She said as a matter of factly.

“Whatever you say.” Cri said as he walked away slowly.

Inside the temple, Miu had thought long and hard. She had finally come up with a solution of how to escape from the repeating chamber. She went over to where the light flickered out and sent several shockwaves into the wall, concentrating very hard while doing so. The wall crumbled, revealing the hallway that Revl and Burst had been fighting in. Strike that. It hadn’t been much of a fight. Revl had been getting knocked up and down the hall by Burst, who was going all out.

“Revl!” Miu called out helplessly as she watched him get slammed by Burst’s foot. He was sent flying into a wall. He slumped down on the spot and spat blood out of his mouth.

“Oh? Did another girl come to play with us?” Burst asked, walking over to Miu. Miu tried to paralyze Burst with a shockwave but it didn’t work. Burst’s left fist began to glow with an odd light. Before Burst could land a blow, though, Sen and Amy arrived on the scene.

“Get away from her!” Sen said, Amy clutching onto him.

“More pests… or more fun?” Burst asked herself, looking at Sen and Amy, providing enough of a distraction for Miu to conjure a wave of energy to knock Burst off her feet. Burst flipped and landed smoothly, sliding back only a few inches. She giggled and went to attack Miu with glowing yellow fists.

“Miu! Look out!” Sen called as he held his blade out in front of Burst’s path. She ran through the blade at full speed, Ico cutting through her midsection.

“You slashed right through my innards without leaving a mark. What a useful torture tool.” Burst said, smiling as her thick red liquid dripped out of her mouth. Amy was terrified of this girl so she stood as far away as she could without losing sight of Sen, who was on guard with both of his wooden blades. Burst got a wild look in her eye as she attacked Sen with Miu watching from his back. Revl watched in a half-conscious state.

“Why is Burst acting this way? She may have to stop the chosen but she doesn’t have to kill him… she even went as far as using mythical energy.” Revl thought to himself as he did his best to observe.

----------------------------------------------------

The whole town of S City was in a uproar. Val had gotten impatient and, without listening to Simon, went up and pulled the hood down of the man with the brown cloak. Long silver hair fell down into view and greenish-gold eyes observed the crowd.

“Ju-Justice?!?” Val exclaimed in extreme confusion and shock. Justice, as he was called, nodded his head and the whole city went berserk.

“Why are you here?”
“Why aren’t you dead?
“Surely this is some type of trick?”

The whole city was screaming out questions as Simon assessed the situation. “Cri was right…” He muttered to himself as he walked outside to the top of his building.

“SILENCE!” He boomed. The whole town fell down to a murmur and then to a whisper. Simon turned his attention towards Justice and stared him in the eyes. Justice looked back at Simon with his calm yet fierce eyes. Simon beckoned for Justice to come to him and Justice obeyed, to many’s surprise. As soon as Justice reached the base of the building, he was let in. Simon returned inside and as soon as they were both out of sight of the crowd they went bananas again.

Simon and Justice met inside a sound proof room with no windows. “So the almighty Justice makes his return from the dead.” He began.

“Wrong. I was never dead.” Just corrected coolly.

“Where have you been hiding for nearly four thousand years? Why are you here and not in Liberius?” Simon asked, almost stumbling over his words.

“There is a problem with many of Z3R0’s legends and great ones. The Creator has assigned me to hunt them done and kill them as well as try and stop the war. I have been in training so I will be able to stop the great ones.” Just replied truthfully. Before Simon could ask any more, Justice took off his brown cloak revealing his armored body and covered himself in white energy. “I must go to The Second’s city.” He said as he disappeared. Simon looked angry as the sliver haired hero vanished from sight.
