Shadows- Chap. 5 Pt. 2
Why did it always have to rain on Wednesdays? Andrew didn’t do his daily morning routine of drumming the door. Maybe Adam told him to stop. A few moments later, I entered the living room, all dressed and ready for training. Both men were on the couch and looking glum. Andrew looked the worst. Their skin was pale, and they hadn’t noticed I was in the room until what seemed like half an hour later. Andrew pulled out a long wooden stick and held it until it pointed to my forehead. “Sayonara, Yukari.”

I couldn’t think. There wasn’t any time to think. He thrust the stick with as much force as he possibly could, and just merely missed the center of my forehead by a few millimeters. Luckily he wasn’t strong enough to stick it right through my head (heaven knows if Adam can though), but pain was still attached to me. The hit scathed a bit of my skin. I kept running – it was (mostly) the only thing I could do. As I dodged another one of Andrew’s attacks, I saw Adam’s eyes, locked onto me, carefully examining me.

Without a doubt, I tried to barge into one of the rooms, but all of them were locked. Even if I could’ve gotten in one of them, many of them had growls coming from inside. The only door which was unlocked was the metal door in the back, and when Andrew had shoved me inside, I tripped on the stairs on fell to the bottom on the cement. Behind me were Andrew and Adam, creating a force field. Something was in front of me – something that smelt of smoke and nearly burnt me just by breathing. I never dared to look up; I never dared to look down either (the cement was so well-polished that you could see above it). Just above me, hot air was pressing against my skin. Slowly, I braved a glimpse of the creature.

It had green scales and was a (in our world) non-existing reptile. Tiny horns had sprouted atop its head and with its mouth slightly ajar, it poured out smoke and steam. There were sharp claws on each of its “fingers”. I took a guess on what it was, and it took only that guess – it was a dragon.

Andrew had deliberately pushed me into a room with a dragon. At the first moment it had seen me, a large ball of fire rolled out of its mouth and headed towards me. For the next few moments, I kept running around the room. Eventually, most of the spots in the room had heated up, and was too hot to even stand on. The only cool part of the floor was where the dragon was standing. I stood on the last flake of the cool floor. The dragon aimed for me, and I was done for.

Apparently right after that, I remembered that I read “Fiery Fiends: How to Get Rid of Them”. In chapter 9, the book stated that there was only one type of sword that could successfully slay a dragon: a sword made of a Bluehorn’s skin. Coincidentally, there was one hanging on the wall. I’m still wondering if those two were testing me or not… if they were, it was still pretty cruel. After the dragon was dead, Andrew dispersed the force field and pulled the dragon out of the house. Adam just walked away. A few spots on me were scraped and other spots were large wounds, and blood was spilling out, little by little. I don’t really think they care about me, just if they can win this battle or not… But before that, I think I did hear a little murmur from Andrew… it sounded like “Sorry,”…

I stayed in bed for about a week, and most of my wounds nearly healed. I think I bumped my head on the ground too hard; I could still feel my head go thud! almost all the time. That didn’t help my thinking either – I think I lost some memory cells when I hit my head. Now whenever Andrew asks me a question (“What do you do when you encounter a szoer?), I keep acting like I don’t know.

Breakfast was served at 7:45 today. The eggs weren’t so bad, but I kept smelling sulfur in the air. I didn’t dare tell the other two; they’d just say I was hallucinating. The door to my room is always open, unless I’m sleeping. For a few moments (maybe I was still a bit drowsy), I thought that the room flashed with red dust. Maybe it was from the candle?

There wasn’t any training today; I was still recovering from the injuries. After breakfast, I stayed in my room for until in the late afternoon. While I was in the room, outside was dead quiet. Andrew would’ve went into his room, and made a racket by slamming his books. Adam would’ve went in the kitchen every once in a while, but I didn’t hear the fridge door close. I keep feeling like something is going to be wrong today, or something is already wrong…

Great! I've been waiting for this one for a LOOOOOOOONG time.

You do a great work, my friend! Kudos!!!

Secret Scene:
((Outside the main character's door))

Emrys:Mia, I think we're lost.

Mia: You're right, this isn't the Forest where the elves are...or the country of Cornelia...Or the right book for that matter!

Emrys: I wonder where everyone else is?

Mia: Probably in the right place.

Pandora: Are you lost as well....?

Emrys and Mia: O.O

Pandora: the map Prometheus gave me didn't go where I think it does.

((Emrys and Mia looks at the map))

Emrys: tell me about it...it actually tells how to go from one book to another!

Mia: lets follow this back and get the heck out of dodge!

Pandora: ...Agreed, we can kill each other...afterwards...
