It was a sunny Saturday and eleven year old, Jack, was pushed out the door with twenty dollars to go to yard sales around the neighborhood. He walked down the street and noticed that the quiet house at the bottom of the cul-de-sac is having a yard sale, so he hopped down and looked around. He couldn't help but notice through the tall racks of old sweaters and trenchcoats that a man and a woman, maybe in their thirties, were staring at him. He tries to ignore it an keeps looking around. He steps in the garage and immediately he hears "Out here, hun, those things aren't for sale." Startled, Jack backs up. The Man and Woman walk over and step in front of the garage. The woman says "Well hello there, hun!" and Jack says "Hullo, um, you just moved in, not to long ago...right?"
"That's right, Hun," the woman says "Almost half a year" the man grumbles. "aw look at you!" the woman says "aren't you the cutest little boy! I want a little boy like him, Tom!" she whines. "Ugh. we've been over this, Katey."
as the couple argue in front of Jack he peers behind them, in to the garage, and sees a musty paper umbrella.
"Well anyway, son, see anything you like?" said Tom.
"No..not really..." said Jack.
"Well, thanks anyway, have a great day!" Katey said.
The couple walks away and Jack slowly walks into the garage. He looks at the strange brown umbrella and decides he HAS to have it. He looks both ways and sees that Katey and Tom aren't looking, he slides the twenty on the floor and puts the umbrella down his shirt, and half down his pant leg, and waddles off.
On his way up the street it gets a little hot, and he swears he saw tiny red spots in his eyes, like when you look directly at the sun, so he puts the umbrella up and continues up to his house...
