Inside the Mirror
I sit in my corner watching the world.
What catches my eye is a sad young girl.
I watch the tears stream down her face.
What happened to our human race?
She traces the scars across her wrist.
And wonders if she will be missed.
She looks up; she sees me too.
She whispers gently, "I know you."
Your the girl I used to be.
Whose heart was happy, whose soul was free.
What happened to us; did we die?
As she asks she starts to cry.
I want to hold her and make her see.
That deep inside she still is me.
She's locked me away, but I'm still here.
Watching the world from inside this mirror.
