Freaking Ike. Taking out the electricity for 3 days. I was sweating pools during the night.

But I should be more serious. Luckily, my family and I are safe and sound. The most we had to get through was a rough night of wind and rain, and of course no electricity. The house pretty much made it through with no damage at all. The trees out front had a ton of their branches ripped off, but that's about it.

Can't say the same for many other people around, though. One of my brother's friends had his roof cave in. A handful of really tall trees toppled over into peoples' houses. Fencing that sprawls the neighborhoods were ripped away. Maybe we're just a lucky family, I dunno. It all depresses me now that I think about it.

Hope everyone out there who had an encounter with Ike will recover quickly and safely.
