Alot of times some people just go to a really big long RP just to leave a few days later because it's too fast and they couldn't keep up. Other times they find a small new thread and leave anyways cause it's really slow and gets boring very quickly. I too have had this problem and have come up with a few pointers on finding a good thread.
1. Obviously you have to be interested in the thread
2. You check the "characters" post by the RP creator and usually it's interesting if they have about 7-10 RPers but not all on the same side.
3. Then read about 3 pages of posts to see where the RP's at (If you join really late it usually gets boring for you fast)
4. Go to the first page to see how long the RP has gone on for. You then divide the number of posts by the time the RP has lasted to find out aprox. how many posts a day to see if it's too fast for you.
