"what was that sound just now?" Kyo asked the group as they exited the elevator. "It sounded like humming, but where did it come from?" replied Marcus as he looked around the empty street. walking the streets cautiously they noticed the air get warmer and warmer as they past a sign that pointed the way to a park. "everyone, hold up." Kain instructed. "what? what do you want?" Niras asked Kain i an angry voice. "shut up, i hear something..." Kain replied. the group stopped to listen. "it sound like somethings in the park area." Kyo said as he wave for everyone to follow him there. "what if those things are there?" asked Ric. "i still don't have my fire-proof shirt on, i only have a regular one under this vest!" he continued.
"then wait here with Niras and Marcus while me, Megami and Kain take a look." Kyo replied as he and the other three walked towards the park. "what the..." Kain said as he took the first look at the park. "what is it?" Megami asked as she peaked over his side. they saw the area engulfed in fire as three people fought against the strange things. "wait, is that another person over there?" Kyo asked Kain while pointing to one in the middle of the park getting thrown to the ground by a larger version of the things. "what the- Thats Azrei!" Kain said as he started to rush toward them. "it's Azrei!?" Kyo asked Kain as he and Megami fallowed behind.
"dammit!" Azrei said in pain as the Flame Mourner swatted him to the side. "Azrei, are you ok?" Kain yell as he ran through the fire while extinguishing it. "DO I LOOK OK!? wait, is that you Kain? when did you get here?" He asked as he sprayed water at the Flame Mourners hands making parts of it melt off. "i'll explain later, looks like you could use some help." Kain said as he shot a burst of water at the Flame Mourners torso. soon a beating heart started to throb out of its chest.(what the-, so its actually alive?) Azrei thought to himself.
"Megami, Kyo, Kain! aim for the torso, i have an idea!" Azrei instructed them. "it better work." said Kyo as he prepared. "if your plan fails, i'll kick both of your asses!' Kain replied. "i hope this work." Megami add as the three sprayed at the Flame Mourners torso. "take this you b*****d!" Azrei exclaimed as he rushed forward and grabbed the Flame Mourners heart and ripped it out. the fire around the area quickly died out and the things backed away into the shadows and disappeared. the Flame Mourner finally fell to the ground and started to melt away, as did the heart still in Azrei's hand. "aw, thats just nasty." Azrei complained as he wiped the melted heart onto the grass.
"what the ******** was that?" Kain asked Azrei. " "she" called it the Flame Mourner." he replied. "did she send it after you?" questioned Kyo. "no, i don't think so, i mean- she gave us a hint about how to beat it." Azrei replied to Kyo. "Azrei! are you ok?" yelled Lilia as she, Saika and Verial headed towards him. "i'm fine, how are ya'll?" said Azrei as he continued to wipe away the last of the heart from his hand. 'w-we found this." answered Saika as she handed Azrei Davis' ID card. "i don't suppose any of you ran into a blond haired guy did ya'll?" Azrei asked Kain as he returned the card. "no, was he coming to join us?" Kain asked Azrei. "yeah, anyways did you find anyone at all?" Azrei continued to question Kain.
"matter-a-fact we did, we were going to search the area for survivors but since your here; you probably searched every house there is in this section." Kain said as he sat down on a charred bench. "i'll bring the others so we can rest here." Megami stated as she left to retrieve the others. "i'll go with." Kyo added as he fallowed her.
"we probably should leave the area after dawn, those things seem to come at night, we'll need to search as much as possible during the day." Verial told Azrei as everyone gathered. "yeah, i know. lets just get some rest." Azrei replied. "yo, Az! hows it going/" Ric yelled as he ran towards Azrei. "well, well, look who here. you mind telling me why you didn't help out?" Azrei asked with a smirk on his face. "well I-uh, hey, look! ya got some girls with ya, guess your not horny anymore are ya!" Ric said jokingly. "i'm going to kill'm..." Azrei said as he took Verial's shovel. "if your going to kill someone, kill Kain." Niras said as she and Marcus came into the park. "friends of yours?" Azrei asked Kain."maybe Marcus but not that hell spawn that just spoke." Kain whispered to Azrei so Niras wouldn't hear.
the rest of the night most of the group was able to get some sleep. the less fortunate stayed up to hear howling winds and inhuman noises. "alright, it's night time, lets get a move on!" Azrei announced to his new group. "night already?" Verial said as he lazily gathered his belongings. "hey, Lilia, Saika, it's time to go." Azrei said as he nudged their shoulders to wake them up. "hmm, lemme lone..." Lilia mumbled as she turned over. "i'm ready." Saika said as she stood up with all of her equipment. "i don't see how she could sleep with that stuff." said Verial as he helped Azrei to wake up Lilia.
a low sudden humming woke everyone else as it grew loader and loader. 'what? is something coming already?" Kyo questioned as he prepared for yet another fight. everyone became silent as crumbling sounds echoed through out the park. soon, shadows began to appear and disappear into street corners and abandoned houses. "i don't see any fire or lights, are these ones different?" questioned Kain. mouning sounds began to circle the park as more and more shadows appeared. "the ground is shaking" Megami said as she felt the moving ground. suddenly the things revealed them selfs. they looked like broken statues that can walk, but blood dripped from the cracks in their bodies.
