Lake Lenore 2
Mistaken Identety
~A young girl finds more than she wants~

The cases of lake Lenore were now becoming big, and many efforts were put into helping many detectives solve the case, but nothing seemed to work. And the government wasn’t taking Lake Lenore seriously. So not much could be done, the people go missing and the funeral homes make millions, witch comes to the government in the form of tax payments. That is what the rumors were, and that’s what people say is the reason that Lake Lenore isn’t drained.
Zoey is your average every-day 13 year old. She was going into 8th grade and the teachers just simply adore her. She lived on the lake and she, along with quite a few other people were very stunned to see that Lake Lenore was finally closing down! She became absolutely infuriated when they told her family to leave. They lived in aunt margrate’s house, and it was special to them. Why? Because, their aunt had died here, well, you should say, went missing presumed dead.
Now, around the same time that the family was told to leave their home, Zoey started having bizarre dreams, about a stunning lady, she sat at the end of a dock. The dock looked surprisingly similar to the dock at the old house. Zoey would notice that the lady is weeping and is severely heart broken. She would try to comfort her but every time she tried, the lady stood, saying “There is nothing left to live for!” then dashes away. “Miss, Miss! Please wait!” Zoey would call out. However it seemed that they never noticed her. Like I’m in a different time…she would think to herself. She often contemplated this trying to understand why she runs away.
One day Zoey decides to go to her old house. The Lake isn’t very well protected because the fence they put up is filled with holes and they have no type of security what so ever. So of course it would be easy for a 13-year-old girl like her to sneak in. her house was one of the oldest on the lake and it looked as if it was going to cave in at any moment. But Zoey knew it wouldn’t, so she barged right in, witch took some time because she had to break down the door. But she did get in and she dashed right to her room witch also took a bit of time because she had already gotten used to her new house so she for got what her old lake house looked like. “Yes! It’s still here!” she squealed as she dashed over to an aged chest that lay in the corner of the room. She opened it with minor struggle and coughed at some smoke that came off of it. Surprisingly tears started streaming down her face, “what? Why am I crying, what is so sad?” she murmured to herself as she whipped away the tears with the long black sleeves of her jacket. As she picked up a shirt from the chest a great feeling of guilt, despair and dread overwhelmed her. “Something’s wrong here” she whispered. Then she gathered up her belongings and made her way out of her room. “Uh Oh…I…I don’t remember where the front door is…” she subtlety whispered. She frantically bounced from room to room, in search of the front door. “Wait, There it is!” she thought out loud. She felt like herself again as she stepped out into the sun set’s ocher light. Zoey dashed home and was very lucky that her parents didn’t ask where she was or how she got her old chest back.
That night her dream changed, she was at the unchanged deck but the lady wasn’t there. Zoey looked to the water and fell back in shock to see that the water was blood scarlet. Zoey screamed then heard voices from behind her, so she whipped her head around and saw the beautiful lady looking even more attractive, but she had blood dripping off her hands in a ghostly glow. “Lenore, I’m sorry, but is Samantha ok?” a frightened man said. He was following the lady as she took gentle steps backwards. So Lenore is her name… thought Zoey. “Samantha?” Lenore questioned, “I only know that I love Jim and some lady took him… my Jim.” She was obviously insane.
Lenore was right about to bump into Zoey, but instead, she went right through her! “Eep!” cried out Zoey, “That was s-s-scary.” Lenore was at the end of the dock and apparently about to jump. She said her final words and turned getting ready to jump, but the man stepped forth and grabbed her trying to stop her. He managed only to delay her because her struggle was strong and they plummeted toward the gloomy blood red waters, which held a horrifying fate for them. As they crashed into the waters Zoey yelled “No!” And she followed them. But instead of getting wet she was in another place… a bizarre coral reef, shaped like a modern day home. There were a few people seated around a coral table with a tiny plant of seaweed on it. One girl stood and walked over to Zoey. She looked to be around 13 or 14, and had jet-black hair that trailed behind her in a straight line. “Zoey,” she called out, “you’ve been possessed for at least a while now. It happened to me as well only faster.” Zoey was a little nervous but she had to know, “I’ve been possessed!? By what? By whom? How did you know my name, and where am I?” she cried. The girl silently replied, “She’s here…” Zoey was absolutely terrified. She felt like something was coming up to her from behind but she couldn’t move. Then she felt something like hands, shockingly cold, grasp her neck. The whole room whirled behind the girl with the raven black hair, and then it simply vanished. The girl was all that was left and the feeling of the unbearable cold was becoming too much for Zoey. The girl told her directly, “… Zoey, wake up now. Don’t fall asleep! As long as your awake she can’t take you!” then the words the girl just spoke rang in Zoey’s head but the cold was so unbearable, and she passed out.
“Urk!” Zoey yelped as she sat up in bed. She could still feel the icy hands grasping her neck. She shivered then stood up. “I’m going to the house, I must know…”
Zoey speeded up her pace she was going to the old house and she was a little frightened, but she knew that she had to go; she had to know what the dream meant. “Lenore!” she said with false confidence as she barged in. she walked further into the house in a search of some type of sign, then suddenly she starts crying. “Oh, this again” she sniffles. She walks toward the back deck and hears a familiar man call out, “Lenore?” she turns in surprise to see the man from her dream last night. He has short black hair and gorgeous black eyes. His expression is filled with alarm. Also the man is wearing a Victorian-age suit in the dark shade of brown. “Lenore, oh my sweet Lenore! I should have never treated you like that!” He was speaking to Zoey, “Huh? Me?! Ummm, I’m sorry you have the wrong girl!” Zoey explained. He doesn’t listen and he is so sure that Zoey is Lenore! “No, you are the mistaken one! You are the only woman to live here! You and I! Do you not remember? Oh my sweet, sweet Lenore! I truly am genuinely sorry. Could you ever forgive me?” Obviously he was not giving up on the idea that the one before him is Lenore. “Really I’m not Lenore!” she tries to reason with him. “No, no you are the mistaken one! Of course you remember me? I’m Jim you’re fiancé! We had one beautiful child named Brianna! But of course you know!” he starts stepping foreword to try to embrace Zoey. She dashes away onto the upper deck. “Brianna, my great grandmother!” she realized. So she finds that she’s related to Lenore! But before she can react, Jim steps out onto the deck calling, “Lenore! Lenore! Why do you run?” She rushes down the steps with no other place to go but the dock. “I am not Lenore!” she screams at the man as he follows.
“You are! Yes! Yes, You are! Why do you deny? I have waited for you… here… so long, for so many years!” He calls out in reply. They are at the end of the dock, and Zoey has no other place to run. She is so terrified that she has tears streaming down her face. She didn’t understand anything that’s going on! Why did Jim come back from the dead, and how come he thinks that unfortunate Zoey is his Lenore? And to add to that if Jim is back then is Lenore too? “Why is this happening to me?” she cried out. “Lenore… please… stop crying! I love you! Oh, my charming Lenore!” he reached out one more time, but Zoey avoided it. But the price for her avoiding it was that she fell in the lake. As she sank down to the bottom of the lake, she wondered what she’d see. She also heard Jim calling for his long lost Lenore. How heartrending… zoey thought. Now she knew that she was going to die, but she was on her schools swimming team so she wouldn’t die any time soon.
Zoey reached the bottom but couldn’t see anything, for the water was too shadowy. She landed on something that felt like the flashlight she dropped in the lake when she was little. “Oh… my petite flashlight. I remember this…” she thought as she picked it up. She lit it up and froze in shock to see so many lifeless bodies. She started to cry, as she saw the girl that warned her about going to sleep. Then she gasped and lost her air when she saw the scariest thing of all, Lenore’s body. It had seaweed growing out of everywhere! But even at such a vulgar thing as that, she was gorgeous. But when Zoey gasped, she in haled, witch of course, was a dreadfully dim-witted thing to do. She struggled and wept; it was an appalling fate that she had before her. She released her air knowing that there was nothing left to do and she was going to die either way. She cried so much, and she got so close! Even closer than any detective. One happy thing to end this awful story is that she had many people grieving for her.
