Three people completing a dismal birthday supper
I don’t know what’s the matter
We’re all so solemn
I’ve actually been stood up!
I don’t know how to take it

What do you think you are?
A pair of queens?
You didn’t need to do that
You needn’t be so cruel
Delicate piece she is

She is
She was
Nobody, nobody
Was tender and as trusting
But people like you abused her
And forced her to change

Why did you do this to her?
I want to know why
Tell me why
Wasn’t we happy together?
Wasn’t it all ok?
Till she showed here

It’s Only A Paper Moon

Her majesty, her majesty
Growing up under different circumstances
But she is no lily! Some lily she is!
Everybody in Laurel knows about her
It’s only a paper moon-

She lived at Belle Reve
Just as phony as can be
She pulled the wool over your eyes
It’s pure invention!
The last year or two she’s been washed up
Like poison

It’s only a paper moon-
I don’t want to hear anymore!
I hate to tell you the reason why
Dame Blanche was called out on the carpet
I don’t believe those stories!

Her future is mapped out
It’s only a paper moon
Just as phony as can be-
Without your love
