on may 12th of the year 1990, a small child was born.....she was normal enough...height and weight slightly high, but she was a late baby, and such things were common enough with them.
a few weeks after the baby's first birthday, her mother started to notice that when the baby girl, named michiyo, cried, that her eyes would turn a faint yellow color, they slightly resembled a dog's eyes, or at least that's what her mother thought.
as the little baby grew into a young girl, her parents noticed how the little girl liked to play in the forest and the snow in the winter. not uncommon for a child, but they also noticed she would stay up late into the night and stare at the moon.
when her parents asked her why she did such things, she simply replied, "they are guardians...the snow, the moon, the forests, even the water and lightning....they always let me know they are protecting me"
her parents grew more worried, and they began to take away her privileges. it was all they knew to do. niether her mother nor her father realized what michiyo was.... a loup garoux.
her mother's family used to be a strong pack, until vivian, a drappa, fell in love with a human and began to dilute the blood line. eventually it had become so recessive that it stopped showing all together. by the time michiyo's mother was born, her family had stopped telling even of the legends of loup garoux.
being cut off from what had felt so natural to her, had made michiyo timid and shy. her parents used this weakness of hers to keep her under strict rule. one late night michiyo lay in bed, wide awake, staring at the full moon. she was 5.
suddenly she smelled something burning. curious, she got out of bed and walked down the hall. the house was filled with smoke, and the little girl was choking. her father had fallen asleep while smoking a cigarette. it fell into a waste basket and set the house ablaze. michiyo collapsed in the hallway from all the smoke. she couldn't breathe.
she felt something tugging her, and she began to be dragged down the hallway.
she blacked out.

"oh where the road of life may take us, and we shall stand together side by side, a family united, not by blood, but by the moon"
