Whine Not. It Won't Help
Rantings of an Old Man
Birthdays
It's that horrid time of year again. I turn 55 on the 13th (tomorrow) and although I don't care a hoot one way or the other, I have yet to understand peoples' desire to remember someonr once a year, and ignore them the remaining 364. Dates back to school, when the "popular" clique used me as one of their whipping boys, except when they were told to go easy, since it was my " special" day. Special, ya right. my brother never remembered unless my mother reminded him and she missed it 3 years running. Any wonder why I think birthdays are overrated?

I have to agree Birthdays are overrated. Seems if you care about someone it shouldn't matter what day of the year you give them a card or tell them how you feel about them . Every day should be special not just your birthday .

Try having the wrong birthday for 12 years...When I came to the United State, I was not talking, due to the shock of everything I was going though. On my immigration paper it stated I was 5, when I was really 7, and they gave me the American Name Candie Leah ( which I hated) and gave me the birthday of July 4. which I also hated..When I turned 18 I legally had to pay money to get it straighten out..Never was a big deal for me, and I understand what you are saying here. In the bible on each time a birthday was mention someone was being beheaded.
