Anabel Lee
We're studying Edgar Aleen Poe in my Language arts class, and we've much of his poems and about his life [ basically all we hear about in that class is death, death, death, death so its pretty depressin at times] my favourite poem of his my class is going try to memorize it and recite it and it goes:

It was many and many years ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you might know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE,
And this maiden live with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love —
I and my Annabel Lee —
With a love that the wingéd seraphs in Heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her high-born kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre,
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me —
Yes! — that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we —
Of many far wiser than we —
And neither the angels in Heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee: —

For the moon never beams with out
Bringing me dreams of
The Beautiful and amazing Annabel Lee,
And so, all the night tide, i lie down by her side,
Of my darling, my life, and my bride.
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

I thought it was a good poem when i just briefly read it over. But in class my teacher explained it more thouroughly to us : It was about him and his wife basically; in real life that is. His wife had died from tuburcoleses, and so did many other important women in his life. But she was the most uplifting part of his life. The poem was about Eternal love. A Magical and beautiful kingdom by the sea, by the way, the poem looks like waves dont they? Long line, short line, long line, and so on. Just like waves in the kingdom near the sea. Amazing how it came out like that. Also it was about a woman and man that lived there. And The Angels above evyed their love and attempted to destroy it. They sent a chilling wind that killed Annabel Lee. Afterwards Annabel Lee became the moon and stars to the man, and their love still continued. I was so close to tears when i finaly understood it.Notice thought that this isnt the entire poem tho, its abit more longer
