Zee, on the other hand, decided to see how many people she could scare in her Bowser costume. Koopling ran along side her in an outfit that made her look like a Dry bones▼. Tina was in her Kokori▼ outfit while Wolven skipped after her and Pepper in a black cloak and outfit that made him look like Ganondwarf▼. Aussa was dressed as Midna▼ with a black painted Fluffles happily riding on her head. Everyone assumed she was a shadow or monster of some kinds, but no one questioned the little bird.
Yinxao didn't dress to any part, but stayed next to Zapook, who was in a Maria Renard costume.
Pepper had the most simplistic costume out of the bunch, but was happy with what she had and says that it makes her fit in more....
"Nya."
Everyone went their separate ways, testing their costumes out.
Koopling and Zapook made it to a town that was known for having demon trouble, not just from the Crew itself. They didn't count on one thing though. During their absence, the town has become more diverse, and no longer held just human beings. Zee and Koopling reminisced for a bit...
The scared faces...The fires... the crashing a car into the side of a building▼...
And then tried to startle a few people in town with their usual shenanigans. The more they tried to scare people, the more they received laughter, or applauds. Koopling would've been laughing at Zee's disappointment, but as she stared up at Zee's face, she noticed Zee was not herself. In fact...It seemed that not being able to scare people bothered Zee in a way Koopling didn't think was possible. Zee pulled her costume off and went on a rampage in town, but that didn't stir up the town like it used to. People in the town were no longer afraid of the demons that used to have plastered all over walls on 'wanted' posters. Once Zee had grasped that idea, she actually began to break down, and fell into a sitting position with her head buried in her knees.
That's when Koopling realized that Zee had snapped.
Meanwhile, across gaia, Tina stood in the door way of a large room at the orphanage as the smaller children all gathered around Pepper with the lights dimmed. Pepper took on an eerie voice, leaning in close toward the children as she spoke:
Tales have been told of a house in the woods
that surrounds a magnificent tree
How many creatures dwell in this home,
though today we focus on three.
On the nights where the blood moon hangs in the sky
One best be well behaved
For you'll be drawn, deep into the woods,
Where you will never be saved.
The first resembles the moon itself,
Her pale beauty glowing in the night
She seeks out those who's been naughty and mean
But does not start a fight.
Instead she lures you in with a soothing voice
and takes you in an embrace
She calmly carries you into the woods
with naught but a smile on her face
bringing you to the house in the woods,
she lets you make yourself at home,
And stuffs you with all sorts of fattening treats
Until you can't move on your own.
That's when she fades into the dark,
and the second of three appears
A devilish figure with a toothy smile
and long pointed ears.
She ties you down while you're nice and plumped
Preparing you for what comes next
You feel your body bound, unable to even speak,
As this dark one casts her hex.
If feeling particularly peckish,
She'd nibble at the flesh of your in delight.
Then plunge her fangs deep into your skin
biting down with all her might.
You hear a sickening, chilling slurp
The sound echoes through your head,
She drains you of your energy
Leaves you all but dead.
Satisfy, she takes her leave too,
As the last shows a sickening grin
Barely get to see more than just this demon's face,
before she commits her sin.
Rumors have it, her body is as red as the sun
that sets on a summer day,
But you need not worry about her appearance,
Just what is on it's way.
For not even a second after she appears,
Her true motive unfolds
And this last ghastly figure wastes no time
and devours...you...whole...
By the end of her little poem, the children were actually hugging each other, one of them crying. The lights came on.
Tina walked over, her mouth hanging open from Pepper's story, and the children's reaction.
Pepper long looked up at Tina, with a huge smile on her face, and calmly said, "I love Halloween."
