That pale face,
Her rosy lips.
She was gorgeous,
Perfect in every way imaginable.
Her mind was great,
Her manner strong.
An air of importance swirled her quaint body,
She was what he needed.
That strong jaw,
His pale blue eyes.
He was handsome,
Perfect in every way imaginable.
He was good, pure;
His love was reason enough.
The feeling of power surrounded him,
He was what she needed.
She was silhouetted,
Hiding her truths behind dainty cloth.
A weak smile was all it took,
And her worries disappeared into the dark.
He was stubborn;
Insistent on the secrets.
A soft kiss was all it took,
And he released what she hid.
She became vulnerable,
Collapsing into him.
Maybe he could save her.
Maybe she would be fine.
He became invincible,
Locking away her horrors.
Maybe he could save her,
Maybe she would be fine.
It didn't take much;
She had broken before.
It was all a nightmare,
Relived in his embrace.
It took all he had,
He had never protected with such intensity before.
It was all a mission,
Lived with her body against his.
And there is,
Standing on the edge again.
And there he is,
Risking everything to save her.
His arms around her kept her safer than she ever thought she could be.
