Life is Hell... Apart from those few Rare Moments that Make it Worth it
SCHOOL SUCKS a**, YO!!
Wow... first time I've written here in a while... and all the entries seem angry... I think I've turned this into my rant archives. Overall, this year as been great for me - school's going well, sports are going well, and everything is calm on the homefront. However, one cannot attend an all-girls highschool without drama and catfights, so that is what I've decided to b***h about today.

I'm so sick of people being snippy with each other and talking behind other's backs... to one of that person's friends. Girls are just blowing stupid things way out of proportion, and, frankly, it makes them look like idiots. I think that everyone in the group has begun to lapse into a false sense of security this year, as I had yet to bring down my metaphorical (yet, very physical) hammer on them to get them back in line. Yesterday, I finally blew up, and I did give everyone a good scolding, which I hope got the message into their heads.

Petty things are no reason to emotionally betray someone. Ten, no, five years from now, I highly doubt that you will remember how inconceibly outrageous it was that your invitation was not chosen for the dance, or that that other girl didn't like your idea for a class project. Frankly, neither of those things are important in the grand scheme of things. Hell, I highly doubt that a monkey could help save people from world hunger more than a banana leaf could. Think about the bigger things. Basically:

Get over yourself.

We all have to make sacrifices for other's happiness. So what if your project idea didn't appeal? May be, just by going along and listening to the other person's ideas, you could find that by giving up something that really does not make a big difference and, instead, agree with something that your partner believes whole-heartedly in, you could totally turn around their day; it is the simple pleasures in life, like being heard and joining in a conversation with a friend, that make others smile, and giving someone such a happiness is easily achieved.

This rant is not refering to anyone in particular; rather, it pertains to everyone in the student body. "Misery loves company" is a very false statement. The truth is actually quite the opposite. Taking out your anger and frustrations on others will not solve your problems; bitterly griping about someone else when they are not present will not allow them to hear your opinion. However, simple things and considering other's feelings do not only make the other party feel thought of, cared about, but also release a feeling akin to unbridled joy within yourself.

Please, be thoughtful of those around you: who are you hurting? Do you do justice to your cause? Do you do justice to yourself? Humans are connected creatures... if one person feels pain, many more experience that effect, also. Do you really want everyone to suffer because of your bitter comments or actions?

I just want to keep what is remaining together. I just want some to apologize and others to forgive.Holding grudges adds salt to your already festering wound; do yourself a favor and stop.

I will try to make my presence more tangible for the rest of the year, because obviously the more "mellow" Skye does nothing beneficial to the group. It's not that I enjoy being the scolding, threatening power; on the contrary, really. I don't like having to shame others into line, or prod at my friends' sore spots. Being the "tough love," "deal with it" figure does not bring joy into my life. But if being the strict mother helps even a bit, I will gladly shoulder that burden and try to shape my children into respectable adolescents. If I can mold others with a stern hand, I hope that I form them into people that others will appreciate and who will, in turn, appreciate others. If that means I become someone to be hated, someone that they vow never to become, so be it. Then, my duty will be done, and I will be content.
