When a Poet Writes
Of winds, of seas; a tear's deluge
Of lonely hearts that seek refuge
Wonders bloom when a poet lifts
His hallowed pen, by grace of gift
To midnight lands of fantasy
Lyrical dreams spark ecstasy
All these adorn a page once white
Stoking desires, kindling delight
Speak not in gone riddles cast
As he whirls one back to past
Through infinite sands, a love sublime
Beautiful memories lain in rhyme
Mountains move as his thoughts inscribe
Stealing woe with verse to bribe
Once more soothing a lonely night
Invoking charm with eye of might
Splendor on script but song to soul
These words will balm a lover's toll
Though with age the pen may fall
His prose remains young to all
