DreamWorld Ch 8
Before Dylan even stepped into the door he had changed into the
same outfit that he fought Damien in. The crystal in the staff is clear as it
was before he attacked Damien. The room that he is in now is very large
and has three different places on three walls. Each place has a ten on a
giant structure. To his left is Egypt the ten rests on the sphinx's head. To
his right is Paris, and near the top of the Eiffel Tower is another ten.
Directly ahead of him is New York, there are several tens on TV screens.
Also in front of him is a baby on a white couch, which is simply
staring at him. “10, 9," a crowd that Dylan can't see screams as the
numbers on the figures change. "8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1! Happy New Year!" Three
holes appear in the couch that the baby is sitting on. Dylan taps his staff
once to prepare for what may happen. A gold symbol appears in the center
but the color of the orb stays the same. Dylan hears the sound of a burning
fuse.
"Nah," he says and taps his staff to the ground. A barrier appears
around him as hundreds of fireworks hit it from the couch. The number of
the fireworks hitting the barrier begins to slow down. "You have got to be
kidding me," Dylan says sounding really upset.
"Grand Finale," the crowd that had been counting down screams.
What feels like thousands of fireworks at the same time hitting the barrier. The number of fireworks hitting it slows down one more time. A giant firework with red
spiral ribbons on it comes up from under the couch and heads directly for
Dylan. The force of the impact alone sends Dylan flying through the air, but
the barrier manages to stay up long enough to hold back the fire.
Dylan hears the sound of a harp playing, and the walls turn red
cluttered with different colored hearts. Dylan stands up, and sees that the
baby is still sitting on the couch. The baby somehow grew wings, and
obtained a quiver of arrows. "Maybe the baby didn't fire the fireworks at
me," Dylan thinks to himself. The baby flaps its little wings, and flies over to
Dylan. The baby reaches into it's diaper and pulls out a dagger with a red
blade.
It swings the dagger at Dylan with all of its strength and weight.
"Love the baby! Love the baby," it screams as it attempts to slice him.
Dylan dodges every slash of its swings. He taps his staff to the ground, and
the color of the stone changes from clear to purple, and the symbol in the
middle of it changes.
"Jin," Dylan says as he swings his staff. The rod doesn't hit the
baby, but the same power that had given Damien all of that trouble before
sends the baby flying into a wall.
"You don't love the baby," the baby says it's face in the carpet.
"No! Would you?"
"Everyone loves the baby."
"You are the most twisted little brat I have ever had the
displeasure of meeting." The baby raises one hand into the air, and five
arrows lift from its quiver. The arrows are magically replaced by five more.
"You will love the baby!" It points at Dylan and all five arrows
head directly for him. Dylan manages to dodge all of them, but one almost
got him in the neck. It found a nice little home in cupid's head in a portrait
behind Dylan. "Love the baby." While Dylan was dodging arrows the baby
managed to sit up.
The baby raises both hands into the air and ten arrows come out
of the quiver, which are also replace by ten more in the quiver. The baby
points its chubby little fingers at Dylan, and all those arrows come heading
right for him. "This game isn't fun anymore," the baby says.
"Was it ever fun? You know what you’re sick." A gong sounds,
and the walls change to resemble a Chinese courtyard. The carpet turns
into hard cement. "You have got to be kidding Chinese New Year." Where
the baby once was a real red wingless dragon now lies. It opens its eyes
and reveals its extremely terrifying red eyes with one black streak going
down the middle.
The dragon pushes off of the ground, and is in the air. It flies over
Dylan who taps his staff on the ground. The crystal in his staff changes
from purple to blue. The dragon breaths a fire ball at Dylan. "Cre," he
shouts. He holds his staff like a golf club again, and a giant ball of water
forms at the end. "Fore!" He hits the ball right at the dragon's fireball. A
cloud of steam fills the room like fog. Dylan taps his staff onto the ground
once again changing the staff to purple, and jumps into the heart of the
steam. "Jin." He swings his staff so hard that the steam and the dragon are
thrown up against the wall. "Jin." He swings his staff towards the ground
pinning the dragon.
"Now that you're settled down a little bit I think I'll introduce
myself. I'm Dylan and you are."
"They call me Mr. Holidays," the dragon says with a scary deep
voice. Dylan says that's not a surprise under his breath. "I am master of all
the holidays. I am the shape shifter supreme, and you are my next victim."
He opens his mouth wide, and launches three fireballs. Dylan sighs and
does flips and cartwheels and other things that make him look like he has
no bones to dodge the fireballs.
"You'll have to do much better than that if you want to stop me,"
Dylan says with a serious agitated tone. Mr. Holiday puts his dragonhead
in the air and roars. Under his roar you can hear feint, but existent
bagpipes. He begins to shrink, his scales turn into pale skin, his torso and
legs turn green, he sprouts a little orange beard. "A leprechaun," Dylan
says sounding confused.
"Aye it's me most clever form." He jumps into the air, and turns
upside down. He magically sticks to the ceiling and doesn’t come down.
"If I capture you do I get your pot of gold and the battles mine?"
"Aye it tis. But ye have to capture me and tha won't be easy." He
begins to walk back and forth, "You see we leprechauns are masters of
evasion." He jumps to the right attempting to avoid a fireball that burns his
green suit. "Well that be a cheap shot."
"I don't really care. I can have money and become more powerful.
Plus I've read that leprechauns are very tricky, and they fight dirty."
"Well that's just something ya'll have ta put up wit if ye want me
pot o' gold. You did say ye wanted it."
"I did." Mr. Holiday points at Dylan, and a pot of gold forms over
Dylan’s head; he doesn't notice. The pot of gold drops and Dylan gets
down on his stomach before it touches him.
"Well for a leprechaun I have some bad luck." The spheres at the
bottom of the pot had kept the pot from touching Dylan, and ultimately
crushing him.
"That was way too dirty."
"Do ye want me to apologies?"
"Yeah, but my mother says that all apologies are made final by a
shake of the hand."
"Well I guess that makes sense." He drops off of the ceiling and
gets on the floor. "Wait a minute." He turns around and starts running.
Dylan teleports from underneath the pot to in front of Mr. Holiday. " Ye be
as dirty a cheat as me."
"Thank you. I know you really mean that."
"However I invented the loop hole of the rules. You can't very
easily catch a leprechaun if there isn't one." An organ plays hallelujah
somewhere in the walls. The paint on the walls turns into an open prairie.
The floor becomes covered in grass. Mr. Holiday transforms into a bunny.
"The Easter Bunny?" Mr. Holiday reaches into his basket and
pulls out an egg. He reaches out to hand it to Dylan, "Yeah right I grew up
watching cartoon characters do that." The pink bunny gets a sort of sad
look on its face. "Oh alright." Dylan takes the egg and opens it. "It's a check
for one million dollars." The bunny looks really excited and pulls out an
egg.
Boom! "Another thing that I learned from cartoons that trick
always backfires." The national anthem plays in the walls. A trap door in
the floor automatically opens, and a large cannon comes out of the floor.
The walls turn dark, and off in the distance of the new walls fireworks are
exploding. The bunny hops over to the cannon, and mans it. He points the
barrel of the cannon directly at Dylan. Dylan taps his staff to the floor the
crystal turns purple with the contact. "Jin." Nothing seems to happen.
The bunny fires the cannon. The firework that is shot out comes
three feet from Dylan then heads back at Mr. Holiday. The firework enters
the cannon and causes all of the other fireworks in the cannon to explode.
The fire that would have touched Dylan is redirected at the already
ferocious flames, and causes a backfire effect putting out the other fire.
"Before I was having fun, but now you’re annoying me," Dylan
says as he walks over to the ready to pass out from pain Mr. Holiday.
Dylan taps his staff to the ground turning it from purple to something else.
His mouth moves but no sound comes out. The color seems to spiral and
change with time. The gold letter that appears in the center of the staff is
more complex than any other before it. Dylan puts the crystal at Mr.
Holiday's throat, "If you show me the door, and grant me some of your
power you'll live. If you don't you…shall we say disappear, and the force
that destroyed you will be so great it will tear a hole in the dimension. Both
ways I leave and you lose."
"My most powerful form Halloween would have been next, but
you would destroy me in the time that it takes me to transform. I deserved
this defeat for toying with you rather than defeating you." Dylan moves the
staff away from his neck, and Mr. Holiday stands up.
"I'm going to give you my power, but I would like to be in my true
form before I give it to you." The entire room turns white, and the cannon is
exchanged for a white couch. The grass turns to white soft carpet. “Not,”
he says his voice sounding scary and deep. The room becomes dark and
the floor is cluttered with dead trees. Jack-o’-lanterns pop out of the ground
all around the room. A moon in the sky is a crimson red. Mr. Holiday turns
into a large zomie with a pumpkin for a head and bat wings.
"Fun," Dylan yells in pure excitement. "Are you ready to see what
I can really do. Galtalnah!" Dylan's staff bursts into what looks like liquid
metal. He throws off his cape and his hat. After throwing his arm in the air
all of the liquid the staff turned into goes to his arm. It covers his arm
turning his arm into metal. He opens his palm and the crystal glows a
brilliant green. "Dreaminite level four. The Deadly Touch." Dylan punches
the ground and plants begin growing rapidly in a straight line towards Mr.
Holiday. The plants wrap around him and hold him still. Dylan punches him
and in a large burst of flame Mr. Holiday's head burns.
Somehow Mr. Holiday doesn't burn and punches Dylan high into
the air. Dylan stops in midair like he was skidding on air. "Don't make me
laugh a weakling punch like that doesn't even scratch me." Dylan looks
shocked as he sees that Mr. Holiday has a new head. "Where'd that come
from?" Mr. Holiday puts his hands on the ground. Coffins burst from the dirt
quickly one after the other. Zombies begin climbing out of each of the
coffins. "This looks like even more fun. Ten!" The crystal in the palm of his
hand turns black and feels cold. He touches the Zombies but nothing
happens. "What why aren't you dead? Wait Zombies they're already dead.
Sal!" Dylan touches the zombie again and it turns to stone.
Dylan continues to turn each one of the zombies into stone until
there are no longer any left to be transformed. "How fun was that?" He
turns to look at Mr. Holiday. Mr. Holiday pulls out a large ax and runs at
Dylan. He swings the ax down as hard as he can. The crystal shatters into
a million pieces. "Dreaminite level 5. The Crystal's Dust." Mr. Holiday drops
to his knees with multiple scars all over his body.
"Okay kid. You win this time for real."
"Good so do what you're going to do and give me the prize."
Dylan's mage costume disappears without him noticing, and Mr.
Holiday puts his arms into the air. Mr. Holiday glows and his body morphs
to a thin human figure. The light dims, and Mr. Holiday has a helmet on
with white robes on. He puts his hands on the helmet and pulls it off. His
long blonde hair flows past his shoulders, and Dylan realizes all of his
feminine features. "Miss. Holiday," Dylan says.
"You would think they would ask you your name before they give you a
nickname." She puts her right hand on Dylan's shoulder. "You're the first
person to ever see my true form you should be honored. I'm going to
transfer you the power of the great element."
"I already have it," he shows her the rainbow like crystal. "That's one of the
most powerful but it's not the most powerful the most powerful but this one
has the greatest effect. The element that I'm going to give you is a reason
that people continue to live, people lie, war, and life." Her hand glows a
brilliant light pink. The pink in her hand goes from her to him. "This element
is the holy element. You should have fun with it." Dylan taps
his staff and the crystal turns pink.
