If the scratch in the glass
is all you see
or if a scarlet letter
stops you in your tracks
then you are blind
and what you don't see
is slowly fading
pain erasing
the beauty of their life
for if all you is the black
the white will cease to be
and if imperfection
is all you gaze upon
it will be all they ever know
oh just let the even rain
of love wash away
all the sadness
of depression, hate, and pain
and just let the scars
left by their own hands
fade away
and see the true person clearly
in the pure even rain
