A girl backed up to the edge of the rocks. Her hands were bound in front of her as she shook from fright. She glanced down at the dark water below. The violent water crashing against the shore. Her terror stricken eyes turned back to where she had run from. Something shot at her, catching her side. Blood sprayed as she fell backwards, splashing into the water below. A dark cloaked figure glanced over the edge before disappearing back into the trees above.

Evolet knew it was over. She cried out, but it was cut off by the water that swallowed her. The water turned red about her as she tried her best to swim to the surface to gulp some air, only to be pushed back under and thrown against the rough rocks. The stones tore at her skin and clothes. There was no hope for her, or was there?
