I felt like laughing weird today. Quite an interesting thing. There's no particular reason. Since I've actually begun to type something a bit more than emoticons, then I might as well keep going.
The other day, around half the gr8 population went to a 'religion' trip sort of thing, including me. It was...interesting. We had four stops that we were supposed to go to: a Mosque, a Sikh temple, a Buddhist temple, and a cathedral. We only went to three of these, because apparently the group before us broke an urn or disrupted the people there so much that they decided not to to it. Cross the BT of our list. Instead, we all went happy-go-lucky at the playground.
the first place my group visited, the mosque, was actually quite interesting. Now, I'm a christian (evangelist to be exact) and I think everyone's heads were screaming TERRORIST!!!. At least the immature ones *cough*Jason*cough*. AN-E-WAYS...they guy was younger than the other presenters, and he was less boring. But he did have an accent, and made us pronounce "ISLAM" and "MUSLIM" the right way a couple times. But as he spoke, he was like, trying to convert us or something. At least that's how the vibes from everyone else felt like.
He told us that the media was making the whole religion look bad, but really those bombings were only because those particular people chose to do it. He told us about a white male arsonist who bombed or put fire to a house or farm or something. I forget. Anyways, he said that the police SUSPECTED 3 Muslim men, but really, later they found out it was a white guy. But they didn't say his religion on TV. They just said "THIS MAN" (I forget his name... >.< wink . And the Muslim speaker also told us about him and some university professor who was atheist were having a chat online....discussing religious stuffs. it actually made sense sorta. huh. But the fasting part, I probably won't last more than 4 hours. I can never be a Muslim (lol)
The others weren't as thought-inspiring. The cathedral was cold, and father (insert name here) was a bit funny but for the most part describing how pretty the church was, and all these corny catholic jokes here and there.
the Sikh temple was...interesting? the food was definitely unique. They didn't tel us what it was, so we all had to brave the dangers of this odd Indian food. One I recognized as curry; my dad makes it sometimes. But this one was not very tasty. it had tofu in it though. The Pita was alright, a bit too buttery, and the rice was sweet and salty. There was also a white sort of yogurt-y thing with beans in it...everyone said it tasted like spoiled milk so I didn't try it. In the end I felt so bad because I was wasting so much food, but there were pictures on the walls with different ways of torture...not a nice thing to witness before eating a meal.
One had a man being cut in half, another had 2 wheels, one with spikes/sharp sword things around it and another with a man tied to it, and the two wheels were slowly coming together....eugh. nasty stuff. Plus we had to cover our heads with bandannas and take our shoes off. I wasn't wearing socks so I nearly froze. At least the place was carpeted. Indeed, that was my religions trip, of which I learned worthless(err...make that priceless) info about religion. sure. whatever Mr.T
