Back at her blank expression
Her eyes, a tortured pair
She hangs her head down
As the girls begin to stare
"Look how fat she is" they whisper
Their giggles fill the room
She sucks it in and tries to hide
As they all laugh and assume
Wanting it to stop isn't enough
As boys smirk and sneer
She tells herself it doesn't matter
But she can't make herself not hear
She tells her mom she's not hungry
When she is offered dinner
She skips through breakfast and lunch
Only wanting to be thinner
With violet circles beneath her eyes
The hunger keeping her from sleep
Tears flow freely as she cries
Because the name-calling cuts so deep
She stares at herself in the mirror
Finally seeing what the others say
No one knew how hard it was
Skipping meals everyday
Slowly she starts to shrink
But at the cost of being weak
The taunts start to fade away
And they switch to "What a geek"
Her bones are thinner
And her ribs stick out
Her mom force-feeds her
But she still tries to go without
She becomes more irritant
Only watching her weight
Her friends don't even recognize her
And what anerioxia creates
She's starved away the teases
And from her pales lips escapes a shaky breath
Just crying from what she's become
Wanting and waiting to starve to death
She remembers how it came this was
Every sneer and every laugh
Refusing all meals day after day
Or only eating half
She tells herself it was worth it all
Through stomach growls and passing out
It's left her struggled and broken
But every name felt like a clout
She only wanted to look thin
So people would see past her looks
To learn who she was inside
And not judge by the cover of books
So now she's scared and skinny
Alone and her head spinning in a blur
But NO ONE would know what it was like
...To be fat like her

Everyone promises you a happily ever after.... but life turns into a different kind of fairy tale.
