It's the thing that's always lurking behind your back.
It's something you can't get rid of or give back.
It has no mercy and cannot be changed.
It has been determined and prearranged.

Many try to escape it's grip on their life.
But it still haunts them and causes them strife.
For others the past is a glorious thing.
For them congratulations and good wishes ring.

The past can be scary but to most it is home.
It is the one thing you have that is always known.
No matter what happens the past is still there.
Sometimes it can help you be honest and fair.

So fear not something that cannot be undone.
It will always be there like the setting sun.
Although it may be scary it is helpful too.
Overcoming this fear is something you must do.
