She slumped over and sighed.
"I'll never have him..." she moaned.
Mori smiled and walked over to her. She laid a comforting hand on Raiko's shoulder and gestured for her to look up. She did so and gasped so loud she almost choked. Standing right in front of them was Shiro.... the hot Goth of darkness. Raiko's eyes grew wide in disbelief. Shiro had his hand extended toward her. A midnight-blue ring shone eerily on his ring finger.
"Couldn't help but notice... you've seemed a bit down lately," he said.
His voice drifted through the air and into Raiko's open mouth. It slid down her throat like warm tea. She found that she had difficulty swallowing. She hesitantly extended her shaking hand to his and loosely grasped it. His hand wrapped tenderly around hers like a mother hold her child's hand. She looked up into his eyes. They were a mix of soft blue and black.... and a tiny hint of crimson. They were unique... ad beautiful. Then Shiro suddenly pulled her upward. He had a lot more strength than she imagined possible for his skinny figure. She tripped slightly and landed in is arms. He blushed. Apparently her being in his arms wasnt his intention. Raiko blushed too and quickly released her grip on his waist. She waited and expected him to frown in disgust and walk away, but his hands didn't leave her back. In fact, she almost swore she was getting even closer to him. She risked a glance at Mori, who was sporting a thumbs-up at a distance. Then when she looked back at Shiro, her face was inches from his. He was blushing a lot, however, he was smiling warmly and he leaned in near her neck. Raiko inhaled sharply. What was happening? He whispered into her ear,
"Is something bothering you, Raiko?"
Then he pulled away and released his grip. He smiled and glanced at Mori. Her eyes grew wide and she hid behind a pillar. Shiro chuckled and softly stroked Raiko's hair. Her knees buckled and she almost fainted. Shiro caught her just in time and laid his hands on her shoulders.
"Hope whatever's upsetting you leaves. Or I'll have to do something about it," he said, then smiled and walked away. Mori's jaw was trailing on the ground behind her as she approached Raiko.
"Dude, you have got to be the luckiest girl here," she said.
Raiko stammered.
"B-but I thought... you didn't like.... like Goths that m-much I thought.... I thought I thought you thought they were.... cree....cree....creep.....creepy..."
Mori shook her.
"Hey stop stuttering! And yes, I do think Goths are creepy, but-"
She glanced at Raiko, who was frowning. Mori shook her head.
"I didn't mean you, sorry."
"It's ok, what were you saying?"
"I was saying that you're lucky cause you've been crushing on that guy ever since we enrolled in this big, fancy, school in the sky. And now he just walks up to you, pulls you into his arms, and kisses your neck!"
Raiko rolled her eyes.
"He just whispered in my ear."
Mori flailed her arms in the air.
"Close enough!!"
Raiko sighed and smiled. She looked up at the sky.
Maybe I am lucky.... she thought to herself.


~Later that evening.....~

The girls in Raiko's dorm were fast asleep, but Raiko was wide awake. She stared up at the bottom of Mori's bunk and sighed, her hands folded behind her head. She glanced at the door. All of a sudden, a head popped out and over Mori's bunk.
"I see someone's thinking about Shiro agaaaaaaaain!!~" she said, then grinned.
Raiko frowned.
"Mori? What are you doing up? Go back to sleep!" she whispered as she rolled out of bed and headed to the door.
"Awwwwwwww, but you're getting up!!" Mori whined.
Raiko sighed.
"Go back to sleep, Mori. This is serious," she whispered, then opened the door, snuck out, and quietly closed it behind her. Mori groaned and yanked her covers over her head.

Raiko tiptoed through the hallways as quietly as she could. The carpet flooring soon gave way to elegant tile and she slid uncontrollably in her batty socks. She desperately attempted to claw at the walls with her black fingernails, but to no avail. She slid until she saw a dark, skinny figure appear before her and her eyes grew wide as she tried to turn around and make a run for her dorm. But the figure was coming up close, and she couldn't stop. Soon she slammed up against it. She blurted out,
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!! I didn't mean to sneak out after curfew!! I-I was... going to the bathroom!!"
The figure stepped back and whispered,
"Raiko...?"
She recognized the voice.
"Shiro!" she exclaimed.
Shiro rubbed his eye and yawned.
"What're you doing up, Raiko? You said it yourself, it's past curfew."
Raiko laughed nervously and rubbed her neck.
"Heheheheheh.... well, you know, when you gotta go, you gotta go-"
"But you don't have to go to the bathroom, do you?" Shiro interjected.
Raiko felt his hands wrapping tenderly around her waist and pulling her in.
"You came for something else, didn't you...?" Shiro murmured into her ear as he softly nuzzled her neck with his lips. They were as soft as silk on her skin. She gasped. What was he doing? She felt something sharp graze her skin. She squeezed her eyes shut as Shiro suddenly pulled away and gritted his teeth. He ran his fingers through his hair and looked away.
"I-I'm sorry.... I gotta go," he muttered, then turned to leave. Raiko Grabbed his arm.
"Please don't leave. What was that?"
But Shiro only shook his head and nudged her arm away. She reached out again, but only caught darkness.
