Drabbles of Your Normal Absurdities.
A Little Farewell
For the first time in all of the almost 175 days of school, I attended, I was absent.

It was rather a nice week, the last of our school days. The week before, we just finished finals. You'd expect we'd be relaxing since its so close to summer, but of course not, we were CHARGERS, and we'd be using our abilities til the last week.

(Our school always had badgered on about how special we are, being part of their high school, so of course, they expected us to work, work and, work.)

The funny thing was, well, my father was acting up that Monday morning.

He entered the room, leaving the door ajar, allowing me to see the living room, its not completely-white-all-the-way walls, and the clock centered at the top of the center wall facing our bedroom door. The clock was actually designed to have twelve different birds, having all different sounds as alarms depending on which time(bird) we chose to have an alarm, that is.

I waited for the usual waking up route, him turning on the lights, blinding us to make us, my sister and I share our room, hide under the covers, and have the semi-calling of, "Wake up! Wake Up! WAKE UP!" Then one of us, would try to persuade the other to go and get ready first, so the one who's still in bed, have more time to sleep.

But like I said, my father was not himself, instead, he just turned on the lights, opened the door, softly, almost as if he was very tired(which I have no doubt he is) and came up to our bunk bed,

"You're not doing anything in your school, right?"

"Yeah, 'uttin" my sister answered groggily.

"Okay, go back to sleep" and just like that, he walked out our room, flicking the lights out.

Okay, I myself was too tired to focus in all the details of their conversation, but it was short, containing only a few sentences. Anyway, this is mainly what he asked, and how my sister responded [I pretended to be asleep, so she did all the work talking].

And so, I laid in my bed, pondering what had just happened. It didn't last long, since my body just decided to go back to sleep. Around 7:15ish am, I felt my phone vibrate near me. I looked at it and saw it was Mari. I forgot if it was a text or call, but it was her still trying to reach me. I closed my eyes.

The next time I woke up was around 8 am, my phone was ringing vibrations, and this time, I knew it was a call. I decided not to answer it (sorry Mari xD) since it was too much effort. I'm such a lazy bum.

I finally got out of bed around 9 am. After waking up so many times, I couldn't fall back to sleep.

I tip-toed the kitchen, and washed my hands, rinsing my face and trying to wake up for real. I stopped mid-way while I was drying myself with the paper-towel. For the past month, I had grown a kind of obsession for having a certain kind of breakfast. Thin cakes soaked with butter and syrup goodness. Pancakes.

I hesitated, debating if it was worth the trouble; and just realized why would have I obsessed over such a thing, if I wasn't even going to actually pursue it.......

Screw it, I got all the ingredients (with the easy pancake mix in the box, though it looked just like flour) and used the electric device of a stirrer. Easier than a spoon, gotta love technology. And mixed them together. Then, I got the pan, (its so smoooooth @____@) got a little bit of vegetable oil on it, and waited for awhile, to pre-heat the thing. Once that was over, I used a spoon to pour some of the contents onto the pan, and got a spatula. I waited for the little bubbles on the top to appear all over, (just like Catherine's acne, pfft) and then drove my tool under the pancake dough, lifted it up, and flipped it over.

Thank god it didn't splatter, but it slip-slidded to a different region of the pan surface. Ugh. Still, I waited for its final side to cook, and scooted it up with the spatula, then slid it on a plate. I waited to see if I wanted to just eat that one, or continue on to cook the rest first. I ate it. But, I did continue on making more pancakes, them getting to be flipped right in the middle, and look like those pancakes you see on commercials. Why need I-Hop, when you can make your own?

Anyway, between the time I've been cooking, my mom woke up and she washed up in the bathroom. I gave her two pancakes, and I gave myself three. I left the last one, the latest cooked, for my sister, she'd better wake up or I'll eat her breakfast. Too bad she did anyway.

The rest of the day was spent on me going on gaia. You see, it's been quite awhile since I've used gaia and been up to date. Sure, I've come back for a few weeks, but I was barely on, so I wasn't up-up to date. I've been using my free time playing Maplestory. So that's what I did the rest of the morning and noon, and maybe the evening. That was also the day I encountered Kyle's Free Avi Art Contest Thread. Which I'm currently always posting on, and spending my time on. Heh.

I also had my close family friend's family stay over. They used the comfy air-bed. Lucky them.

-x-

The next day, I was surprised to find they were here. Then I remembered why, and was sad. Today was their final to spend with us on America, before moving back to the Philippines.

We woke at 5am. I woke at 6am, twas too sleepy, and got ready.

By 7, we packed their stuff and left for the airport. We made it there around 8:30am.

We got out of the two cars, and grabbed the luggage. One of them, a rollie bag, broke. It's handle came off as my sister was pulling it behind her. We all laughed. Sadly they all ditched me with it as they we're already almost inside the building. Instead of pulling it, I just decided to carry it using it's handle-strap on the top.

Right after I entered the door, I just dropped the bag on the floor, pulled it in front me, its pulling handle facing me, pulled it slightly out, the handle, right before it did fall out, and used it to push the bag along, its front butt facing the direction I was heading.

There, we waited for an hour and a half, to register them, and the bags. During this time, I've been texting Mari and Andre on my phone, while they were at school. And, complaining to Mari, of how hungry I was, and how much I was craving for a croissant. They sounded awfully good at the time, and still are.

By 10:30 am, we went down to the ground floor, where all the cafes and stores were located. For the next thirty minutes, we walked around, window-shopping. Hunger was gnawing at my mind for a croissant. Gah.

After that, we all sat at a round sided bench, it circulating around a pole that had fake plants designed to vine through its top. Sitting was such a relief. Standing all that time was really tiring, and made me hungrier. So Tito(Uncle) Robert and my father decided to offer us what we wanted. Refreshments were only offered though.

I picked hot chocolate and while they were gone, Pao(Paolo) and I finished the first two wordsearch puzzles in his mom's book about the names of tv shows. By then, the guys returned.

My hot chocolate tasted more like milk with a dash of hot syrup and was heated in a cup. Not so very great, but it was better than nothing. And to my relief, they bought bakery. Nope, it wasn’t a croissant, but some kind of bread, flaky like a croissant, but criss-crossed between the middle of the thing. Like apple pies. I chose the chocolate hazel nut one, and it did wonders to my stomach.

After much munching and happy sighs, I finally agreed to play tag with Pao, we ran around up to only four stores away from where we sat. The bench, being actually a thing circling a pole, itself was near a staircase leading to the upper floor of airport check-ins. Underneath its flight of stairs was a little area fenced with silver dull poles. It only reachs up to two and a half feet, having gaps between the poll and the floor. This was base.

One time, after I was it, and then him, and then back to me, while he was running towards base, Pao had an unfortunate accident relating to him jumping over the poll fence, but not high enough. He hit his middle pretty bad. Ouch.

Even though I found the incident funny, I did NOT want Pao getting hurt. So, I quit playing and continued another page of the crossword puzzle. From there, he disappeared for several minutes. He did come back, only to show me he found arcade games. I went and followed him, curious. Then, the car game jacked his 75 cents.

We--he, came back asking for money. Tito Robert gave him a dollar or so, and once he was gone, he gave me two.

"Go have fun" and he gave me a sad smile. At first, I didn't remember why he was sad, since I've been having so much fun, but then I did right afterwards.

I didn't use the money, I just shoved it in my left jacket pocket. I'm a money-hogger ;D

Anyway, after playing, for 15 minutes, we went to the McDonald's in the airport. There, we all ordered something to eat. We got a table, and after spreading the food around, they realized they didn't include my order. Well, isn't that nice?

My mom grabbed my hand and we got my meal. Then, right after eating, I checked my phone, and noticed it was 12:45pm. They were leaving soon. =/

After eating, we went to the departure section. While they entered the little entrance, just a gap between two line fencing polls, we waited outside the line. We waited til they reached the area where they were scanned. We kept waving bye as progress in the line moved. But after they went through the entrance to the plane, we stopped.

Tito Robert was suddenly quiet. Then he checked his phone, and called them, probably hoping to hear them before they left. Wait, why was he still here? Wasn't he supposed to go with them? What?

He was able to call them, but right after the call ended, it was done. They were gone. I glanced at my mom, and was surprised to see her eyes were glazed. She turned around and walked a few feet from us. I followed, and hugged her from behind, and glimpsing at her face, I realized she was crying.

I haven't seen my mom ever cry. The only other time, was when my grandfather--her father, died. He died from a stoke, and in less then 24hrs, he was dead.

And now, it's another time, my mom actually cried openly. After all, her all-time best friend, was gone, and she wasn't going to ever see her again, except through the computer.

I almost cried. 'Cept, I didn't. I almost did, but what was the point anyway?

So after that, we went out toward the parking lot. I was going to go to our car, but then my father stopped me, and told my sister and I to travel with Tito Robert. I realized that he would have been all by himself if we didn't go. So we did.

A few minutes after we left the airport, and driving, he starting talking.

"I already miss them." I stared at the back of his head, partially being covered by the car seat, waiting to ask my question.

"Why didn't you go?"

He told us that he plans to go home in march. Nine months from today, my sister told me. He'll be staying with relatives before leaving of course. After that, there was only silence. Well, it wasn't so awkward, but comfortable, in that sad way.

And then, the car suddenly swerved to the right, so very close to the curve of the sidewalk. Hehe, we were so close to having an accident, but oddly, we were all too preoccupied to care.

"Sorry girls, you okay?"

We were fine, we told him. And after two minutes;

"Gah, I can't take this"

He turned on the radio.

'Pleaaaaaaaaaaase, don't leave me. Pleaseee, don't leave me' the lyrics of music spread through the car space, bouncing around our ears.

How ironic.

Well, irony can be so cruel. After all this and the wait before going home, irony just had to be a little betch, before leaving. Wow, I wonder if he even noticed. Tito Robert probably did, but didn't say anything.

By the time we reached home, I was quite comfortable in my car seat. I reluctantly got up and rushed towards my room, after unlocking the door.

The rest of the day was spent to doing nothing. Mostly surfing the internet, posting on gaia, and having occasional thoughts of a certain close family friend pair.

--Well, I was supposed to post this on last Tuesday, but things happened. I'm just glad I actually wrote it though. It was so rushed near the end, cause I got lazy explaining how things happened. I stopped around me describing the hot coco, and continued the next few paragraphs from secretly using the laptop around 3am. Sadly, my mom took out the internet, so I worked on it on word. Then, I finished everything right now xD. Well, just to note for everyone, I'm going to explain all about the whole week of last week. For the next few journal entries, that is, and then I'll update to the present :3--
