Crimson Tears

It was the end of summer, The Bridges family was packing for their trip back to Newton, Boston, MA. While little Susan was running around back and forth from family member to family member, Mother to father, grandmother to grandfather, Lisa was just watching with a glare. She held a tight grip to the end of her shirt, a way for her to hold it all in. They couldn't see the tears forming inside her eyes, No. . they couldn't see the red of her cheeks turning her face even more fragile each second. If someone was to poke her, her face muscles might just lose balance and tumble down by a rush of crystal tears filled with remorse. Keeping a tight grip to her shirt, she stood up, walked past the happy family, and locked herself inside the closet. There.. There she could do what she was feeling inside. In her mind, she had visualized a picture of a stream, a normal stream any other would see in a jungle, the water breaking lose through the rocks, from rough starts to soft ends.. a small puddle of tears emerged from her eyes. They filled her face, almost seeming as if it were sparkling from far away. She wouldn't cup her cheeks, for she has learned to understand, wiping away the tears, to her would be like hoping things were different, hoping there was someone, somewhere, out there, that could wrap their wings around her and make her feel safe. She had learned to fear those hopes far back when she was smaller, slowly she found out each day, that if she couldn't trust her family. . who could she trust? What more could she expect of life? Her vision in her mind became duller by the second. Instead of crystal streaming water in the stream, in her mind, that water was turning darker. Crimson. As if someone had poured a small amount of red paint into a white jar of water, and in seconds the red from the paint contaminated the rest. Just like that her mind was filled with hate.. Her feeling of lonely-ness grew into something else. It turned into a sickness. hate, despise, envy filled her brown eyes. It all lead to just one person. No, not the mother, not the father.. Just one person. The source of all the rejection. Her sister. Susan.
