You fixed this broken angel's wings, And turned them into pretty things, Like hummingbirds' that hover 'round, Some happiness I thought I'd found.
But then you ripped my wings away, My happiness can never stay, I tried my hardest, did my best, Our love just couldn't pass the test.
Still, I won't make a big to-do, I'll simply smile and say "thank you". You made me happy for a time, I'm glad I got to call you mine.
(Just the last little bit of closure I needed to move on from...you-know-who...to better things. Don't hate me for this poem amor...)
