Many years in the future
An alarm goes off and a dainty hand with small sharp nails darts out from beneath a comforter and knocks it across the room to shatter upon the opposite wall.
"Yaaaaawwwn, what a tiring night I had," say's the vampire as she rises from her bed, "those lanterns don't drop silk for nothing do they?"
"Snort!" exclaims a small purple puff of fur with bat wings and bunny ears that was not happy about being woken while the sun was still out.
Ryu rolls her eyes and gets ready for the day, <maybe I'll go out and catch some bugs today,>she thought as she zipped up her favorite knee high leather boots.
She grabs her backpack equipped with trowel, and a net. Then with a nod to her bunny she headed out the door. She began to wander about for a while and hearing the sounds of distant discussion she walked towards the sound, thinking that she might be able to find some gold, or better yet an intriguing person to have a good conversation with. After all, even when all one has is time, there still is no reason to waste it.
