"Wake up boy, wake up." The voice that beckoned him back from the darkness of his own pain induced sleep was not altogether unfamiliar as though he heard it a long time ago. Which wasn't altogether impossible since Elias was never too clear on the events of his own past. Elias opened his eyes and found that he wasn't in the jungle anymore, he had somehow been transported to a rather large room for lack of a better word he was sitting on a dark red leather couch in what looked to be an upscale bar of some sort. His bones and muscles ached as he tried to adjust his weight, "Where am I?" he asked his voice raspy and tired as though he had not been using it for some time.
"You're in a bar dumbass" the voice answered, Elias followed it and was finally confronted with the voice that spoke to him, and he laid back on the sofa taken aback by what he saw, it was himself, or at least someone that looked exactly like him, except there was some slight differences. His demeanor seemed different there was more violence in his eyes, and the emerald green hair that Elias wore was a shoulder length on the other version of himself. He was standing behind the counter wiping ti down with a soaked towel dressed in all black formal clothing. Elias could not help but notice that the other version of himself was missing an eye. Elias cocked an eyebrow that one eye that did remain wasn't the same emerald green of his own, it was bright yellow and resembled that of a serpent, a snake. As though the other version of himself never tried to hide what it was.
The other Elias smirked "So did your brain leak out through your ears yet?" his voice was the same but it seemed by age and pain, more then Elias could hope to comprehend. "I'm sorry about the trip, I was never too happy with it myself but we are not the one that designed it." the other version of himself said.
When the original Elias spoke, and he was starting to though that, his voice sounded as though it were on the verge of tears. "Where the hell am I? And what or who are you?" Elias asked as he rose from the table and walked closer to where the other version of himself was still standing behind the counter of the bar. The other version of himself merely laughed as though he found some great humor in what was being said. "I'm you silly, or at least the you that you will become in about one thousand or so years." the other Elias said with a smirk on his face, Elias could only stare back at the older version of himself as though he was starting at some long lost father.
The older Elias waved his hand in from of his younger counterpart, "So I'm guessing that wasn't the answer that you were hoping for was it." the older version of himself smiled as he walked out from behind the counter. Elias arched an eybrow, he had noticed that there was something not quite right about the way the other had been standing and now he realized what it was, it seemed that this older version of Elias was not only missing an eye but he was also missing his right leg a cybernetic prosthetic it its place. The older version noticed Elias looking at his leg, "Don't worry loosing doesn't hurt that much" he laughed.
Elias's head spun how was it that he now 1000 years into the future? And how was it that he could see and talk the future version of himself and not cause some universe shattering paradox? It was at that time that his older self resting a hand on his shoulder. Elias's reaction was violent, he had always heard that something horrible was going to happen but at that moment it didn't, the universe didn't explode implode or even so much as shutter, it turned out that the universe didn't care.
"If you're wondering how it is that I can touch you and still survive is that even though I'm the future I'm not necessarily from your direct future. In 1000 years you might end up looking like me or you just might end up getting older, or die before you ever get to his ripe old age." his older version as he removed his hand. Time is an interesting thing, it's never really set in stone, I have a theory that time is merely a fluid phenomenon and it's outcomes changes with each choice that people make.
Elias shook his head as though trying to wipe the landscape of what was going on around him. "So if the choices that lead to me as you have yet to occur why is it that you're here?" Elias said as he rose from the floor and took a seat at a an empty booth. "It's because of the bar." the older him said. "What do you mean the bar? What is it sentient or something."
"He caught on a whole lot faster then you did Elias." the voice was female and it seemed to come from the walls themselves as though the bar itself was talking. The older version of Elias snickered, "Yeah, and that means what?" "At least he's smarter then you ugly a**", not only was the bar a she, apparently she had a mouth.
Elias, the one from the present time was still finding it hard to establish why he had been yanked so far into the future. "What's the point? So I end up owning a sentient bar in the very far future, what's the point of this conversation?" Elias asked once more.
