Day Two:
Jayden sighed, reaching into my pocket and stealing my lighter and cigarettes. I laughed again.
"I have money you know, I could always just buy another pack." He gave me a glare as he stood up, pocketing the cancer sticks. He held out his hand impatiently.
"Breakfast is ready." He said, cunningly changing the topic as he pulled me up from my comfortable seat on the pavement and lead me inside.
I was greeted by the warm smell of maple syrup and pancakes, the poignant odors permeating the house. Kicking my shoes off by the door, I walked over to Jayden's kitchen, sneaking up behind him with quiet socked feet. I wrapped my arms around his waist, letting my head rest on his back. I listened to his heartbeat as he moved various pots and pans around on the stove.
"I need to move." He whispered, sullenly disrupting my peaceful state, which was quite rare since Winter had left.
It was my turn to sigh. I retracted my grip and made my way over to the island. Sitting down, a rather large plate of food was thrust in front of my face. I was hungry, since I hadn't eaten in days, but I simply couldn't bring myself to eat. I picked up my fork and began to push the delicious food around on my plate, making it appear to the untrained eye that I had indeed been eating. Jayden looked up from where he sat across from me, reading the newspaper.
"Is everything alright, Zane?" he asked.
