I think the idea was valid, but what most ppl were angry about was the loss of items.

I personally hate smoking tobacco, but have found some amazingly done avi with pipes, cigs, and the smoke as accessories rather than a centerpoint

Maybe they should have gone about it in another way, like...hmm....O.o! maybe an EI based on the effects of stuff like that.. with the damage and yuck all visible..ppl would buy it and it would get a message to younger users about real life without removing items from the older ones who are informed enough to make their own decisions in RL and here.
