    Physical Description: reference sketch

Ever is relatively pear-shaped, with highly toned (but not overly muscular) arms and legs from her life asea, manning her own boat. Her hips and thighs should be her most prominent feature. ( The picture is not a perfect representation of her body shape. ) Hair is slightly curly and almost always wind-swept and tousled, giving her a beachy, sexed-up appearance. Skintone is tanned, but not too dark. Has a healthy flush to her face.

Distinguishing Marks / Features: Double piercing in her right ear, clover-shaped birthmark just above her right shoulder blade ( but not perfectly shaped, a little splotchy as birthmarks tend to be )

Style of Dress: Though a total trendster, Ever prefers comfort over style when it comes to the dress of her day to day life. 90% of the time she will be found in simply a pair of thigh-hugging khaki short-shorts and a ribbed cotton boytank in light colors: blue, teal, pastel yellow, green. She is almost always barefoot, with a hemp ankle bracelet on her left foot. ( If you can't do / don't feel comfortable with doing barefoot, she can alternatively be wearing these )

There are two necklaces Ever always wears: the first is an antique, frail-looking brass chain with an intricate, filigree brass pendant and a green gemstone. This necklace is shortest, and falls just at or slightly beneath her collarbone.

The second is a brilliant blue mana crystal on a silver chain. Much longer than the other, this pendant hangs at about chest level. Upon closer inspection, the flickering of a flame can be seen within the crystal, glowing orange-red beneath the blue housing. It seems to dance and twitch like something alive, like a heartbeat.

Other outfits will be detailed upon request. ( Artists: If I want you to draw her in another outfit I will tell you in advance, with full description and pictures. )

    --- Personal ---

Strengths: Though her morals are generally upstanding, Ever is shrewd when it comes to making money. If the paycheck is good but the work questionable, she can easily detach herself from these morals and her own self-image in order to do what needs to be done. She is also eager to learn, strives to better herself, pretty understanding of others' faults, and overall pleasant to be around.

Weaknesses: Ever runs from her fears and shuts herself down in emotionally draining situations. For the past two years she's been sailing the world in an effort to avoid confronting her past, and her family. She's also extremely uneasy of babies and faeriefolk, and is prejudiced against most vampires upon first meeting.

Oh, and she drinks entirely too much and is still hung up on her last two relationships.

    History:

Born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. The city of bridges. Not much is known about Ever's family or early life. She was engaged at 23, and set to be married during the winter of the following year.

A week before the wedding, she and her fiance, James, had been driving home from an evening in the city when a heavy fog rolled in from the riverfront. It was so thick that it obscured all vision, blanketing over half the city. It caught up to the couple as they were trying to cross over a bridge. On the opposite side of the road, a car, seemingly lost or distracted in the fog, veered over the median and into oncoming traffic. James swerved to avoid it, but lost control on the damp roads and the car steered through the guardrails on the side of the bridge. Her fiance was thrown from the vehicle. Only his weakening grip on the wrangled guardrail kept him from falling into the river below. ( Lesson: Always wear your seatbelts kiddos. )

Ever immediately rushed from the car to help him, having suffered only a few gashes and bruises from the accident. As she clasped her hands around his wrist, however, and attempted to pull him to safety, she would learn something about herself.

You see, Ever had been born with an ability that, until this night, rested dormant within her. She did not know that she could transform the physical makeup of her body -- that is, until the fog closed in around her. Enveloped her completely. And her body reacted by becoming the substance that so thoroughly shrouded her.

As her hand, along with the rest of her form, shifted into a mere gaseous existence, the horrified woman would be unable to keep from losing her grip on James's wrist, watching his hand pass right through her cloudy fingers.

She would always blame herself for his death.

Shortly after the funeral, unable to face even her own family after the tragedy, Ever skipped town. She drove to the coast and hopped aboard the first ship that would take her money: a cargo ship bound for Hong Kong. From there she ventured to Malaysia, then Australia. She spent the next nineteen months traveling the world, offering what services she could to scrounge a little money.

It was during a smuggling trip from Barbados that she had finally put away enough money for a boat of her own. She left the ship at the next port and put her money towards a 50' sailboat, and a new puppy as her first mate. The next day they set sail, without an agenda or even a destination in mind, and so her life as a drifter began.

It remains unclear at which point during this aimless journey the ketch left Ever's world and entered Gaia. If she had to guess, she would pinpoint the moment to a nasty storm that, at the time she recalled thinking was strong and violent enough to tear the fabric of space. As it turns out, she had been right.

The first home Ever found in Gaia was a small beachside shack known as The Black Sands. It was here she had her first encounters with the frightening realities of this world; vampires, ghouls, and troublesome demons to name just a few. It was also here that, for the first time since the accident, Ever's heart opened to another man. Er, Golem.

Her relationship with Gill was marred by their mutual drifter natures and reluctance to commit, then tainted further still when the golem absorbed an evil fae presence that corrupted him completely. He behaved as if posessed, at the low point even blackmailing Ever into unwanted carnal deeds.

Inevitably the relationship was doomed to fail, but to this day Ever still harbors a longing and a deep-rooted weakness for Gill.

It was during her stay at the BSB that Ever became aware of her own vulnerability. Being unable to, unsure of how to defend one's self in a world of such powerful races was - in her eyes - a death sentence.

She has since made it her goal to learn to hold her own in combat, and has struck up relationships with three potential teachers to ensure a well-rounded education. Each more interesting than the last.

Ever's time right now is currently spent divided amongst her teachers and the casual bartending gig she holds at a seedy harborside pub called "The Cloak and Dagger."
