The Witch Hunter
This is a work in progress for a story i'm writing based on the Warhammer 40K character i created. Enjoy

---------------------------------------------------------------------

On the city of Polaris IIV; the night sky had turned a crimson red from the light of the orbiting moon. It was a source of all military equipment for the Imperial Guard regiments within the Polaris System, and there fore considered a highly valuable asset as a total of nineteen planets make up the Polaris System and each planet had an Imperial Guard Company of almost fifteen thousand soldiers which meant they needed the equipment for any engagement.
On the long night; a lone woman was running. Dressed in robes and carrying a pict-screen within her arms. It was unclear why she was running; whether it was for a meeting, or because she was running away from someone remained unknown.
Following close behind, Inquisitor Lunar Anara was following along the girders. She was slender and eloquent, dressed in full power armour beneath a long heavy red leather duster coat carrying a boltgun with an attached stake crossbow. Around her neck was a black pendant in the shape of an “I” marking her symbol as an Inquisitor. Her weapons denoted that she was in fact an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus, better known as the Witch Hunters. Walking under the light, her facial features were revealed; ice cold eyes with a fair complexion and long flowing black hair. She looked ahead of her, and found her target, the robed stranger that run ahead of her kept stopping to look back.
“Big mistake heretic” she commented while raising her combi-bolter. She waited for a moment. The robed figure was still running but the moment she stopped; the stranger fired one of two crossbow bolts and watched it stream through the air; finding its target through the robed woman’s forehead.
The woman fell with a thud and a shattering of the girders. The pict-screen slid from her hands and slid along, stopping short of the edge of the girders, with another inch meant loosing it to the pits of the Hives below the industrial complex.

If you'd like to know more about the character of Lunar Anara, then feel free to ask and i'll put up some detailed information about her in another journal entry.
