Hello -- here I plan on recording the small instances that happen to me as an undercover, wandering male newb, wondering if there really is sympathy to be had for the newest members or if they should just suck it up along with their supporters. Let's find out...
* Not all quotes are exact, but areas close as possible to the original, including horrid spelling and grammar *
. DAY 1 .
I log into Gaia Towns -- my first subject of study. I use a mule account for the job, one that's been recently made. First I go to zip 001001. Things are quiet, as only about 8 people are there at the time. Most of them were newbs/n00bs. Not exactly what I wanted, but I could use this for studying interactions between this species...
Immediately, one of them struck. A young newb female approaches me, sitting under a tree. She asked me why I was sitting, and replied merely with a, "'Cause I can". Okay, not so bad thus far.
THEN... she says: "i like u". I replied quickly with, "I barely know you...", but it wasn't good enough to stop THIS slut, OHNOEZ!
She asks: "do u want to b my b[oy]/f"
Me: "Okay. But I'm really a girl lawlrcaust."
And then the awkward silence.
Girl: "nvrmnd" (*runs away*)
I got a good laugh out of that. I guess it's true women like pixels with pink hair. ;D
* NOTE - After closer observation, I found the same subject trying to get into another male's pixelated b0x0rz. Apparently, upon arrival to Gaia, newbs hunt for a proper mate to cyber with when the urge comes. Fascinating, I say. surprised *
After this incident, I decided to haul over to 001000, the most crowded area in Gaia Towns at any given time; there had to be 35+ people there when I came. I wandered a while, back and forth between a few acres, then back to the middle. I sat under the same generic tree and started shouting phrases that almost seemed to come from the Bible. I have watched many... "Towns Prommies" perform such a practice before, and I wondered what reaction I would get as a newb.
All I got was, "what a attention whore."
I expected this. I was not nearly popular enough to be accepted by my virtual peers, exactly as 99% of Gaia.
That is what I have collected today. Keep tabs on me... you never know what I may bring to you -- that's right, YOU -- next.
