Thesis: France is a country set in the western side of Europe, third largest in landmass with enough culture change to confuse a tourist.

A. Because of its size France is divided into twenty-two regions,each has a different climate and way of life.
B. France's official title is République française.
C. Le tricolore (the flag) is vertically striped red,blue, and white. Red and blue are the colors of Paris and white stands for French royalty.

1.Eiffel Tower the most famous structure in France was built for the World's Fair in 1889.
2.Louvre Museum was first built in the Middle Ages as a fortress. Another palace was built next to it,Tuileries, but was destroyed in 1882. Lourve was then used now as a museum.
3.Notre Dame Cathedral, "Our Lady of Paris",was started in 1163 and was mostly completed in 1250
4.Versailles Palace the king of palaces it's extravagance shows Louis XIV love for comfort even if his subjects are suffering. Versailles was built just before the French Revolution.
B. Mont-Saint-Michel Christian monks built this and a small village accompanied it. The island is surrounded by water but when the tide is low you can walk across on the road that was built.
