Sunday was Free Comic Book Day, a day where you stop by your local comic book store and pick up certain comics that are free. So you don't get any comic free, but you get to pick from a large selection. Basically they're comics that were made for Free Comic Book Day.
The guy gave me a bag that had a bunch already in it.
But I bought some other things as well, felt kinda bad that I'd just be there to get free comics and that's it. So I bought two recent issues of Sonic the Hedgehog-- $3 dollars each and the first volume of Tsukihime (book with the blonde lady wearing a white sweater). I cannot believe I found this particular manga, it's really hard to find. Even on eBay. Even so, $10, standard price-- good.
The price of standard comics have gone up a dramatic 50 cents. Geeze, I know these things cost to produce, full pages of color ink and such, but $3 for a comic that basically requires that you buy the next one if you are to follow the storyline, it all adds up. Seriously.
Spent 30 minutes putting little red stickers on the back of the comic sleeves. I had about 200 comics that didn't have any sticker to hold the flap down. Went out to Office Depot and got a little container that had about 1008 of these things. They didn't sell in any smaller quantities-- $6 meh.
I'm really not a comic book person, I only have Sailor Moon and Sonic the Hedgehog. (well now I have some other misc Super Hero comic books)
And yes that's my kitty in one of those pictures, as well as Sailor Moon party supplies in the box. I needed to fill it up with something, because I don't have enough comics to fill the damn thing up.
